A simple and low cost thin layer chromatographic (TLC)-image analysis method was developed for rapid determination and quantification of monosodium glutamate (MSG) in some food samples. Chromatographic separation of MSG was achieved on silica gel TLC plates, using n-butanol:glacial acetic acid:water (5:3:1, v/v/v) as the mobile phase and ninhydrin for spot detection. Image analysis of the scanned TLC plate was performed to quantify the amount of MSG, the method was validated and found to be accurate specific reliable and convenient for the analysis of MSG in some food sample.

This paper contains the following concepts: definitions about polaron, concepts of polarons, large polaron, small polaron, and development of quantum theory for electron self-action potential in a system consisting of three contact different semi-c onductor thin layers, finding polaron potential energy, and studying the case in which an electron is located inside the thin layer or on its surface. Studying the effect of dielectric anisotropy of layers on electron-(hole) potential energy in the above mentioned thin layers.
A newly developed methodology based on image analysis technique has been used to measure fiber openness and the results are compared with those of the traditional method of measurement of fiber openness. The role of different opening process paramete rs in deciding the openness of fibers obtained by image analysis technique is found to be much higher than that obtained by beaker test method. It is found that the higher speed of opening rollers and higher angle of grid bars improve fiber openness appreciably, but with little deterioration in fiber quality. The higher fiber openness ultimately results into more regular and less imperfect yarn. With the increase in fiber openness, yarn strength and yarn breaking elongation increase initially and then decrease. Yarn hairiness almost unchanged with the increase in fiber openness.
In this work, the effect of electric permittivity and thin layer thickness on the energy gape has been studied in a system consisting of three thin layers by means of finding the self action potential of charge carrier located in the central layer of this system. Then, the self action potential energy has been found by solving Schrödinger equation at the extracted potential. This study shows that energy gape of PbI2 decreases with layer thickness while it increases/decreases according to comparison between dielectric permittivity values of central layer and counterparts of two neighborhood layers on both sides.
The purpose of this article is how to use HPLC technique for quantitive analysis of cholesterol in some foods. The best conditions are studied for this analysis including composition of mobile phase, temperature, flow rate, the wavelength of detec tor UV-VIS, and acidity of mobile phase. The column used for cholesterol determination by this method was: C18(5μm,250x4.6mm) with injection volume of 20μL. Methanol 100% was used as mobile phase.
The purpose of this article is how to use HPLC technique for analysis of some vitamins. The studied vitamins are niacinamide (vit.PP), pyridoxine hydrochloride (vit.B6), riboflavin (vit.B2) and thiamine hydrochloride (vit. B1), which can be found in some Syrian pharmaceutical preparations.
