The research provides a comparison between two methods for treating osteoarthritis. In the knee joint using platelet-rich plasma injections after or without arthroscopy, the study included 100 cases every fifty of them were treated in one way and the
results were evaluated after surgery and the researcher reached the following results. Treatment with platelet-rich plasma injections after arthroscopy provided an advantage in terms of pain reduction and reduced joint effusion in the knee, improvement of the ability to rest on the limb (walking), and a marked reduction in the severity of symptoms and signs of degeneration was noted.
During 2016 we have made 167 survey bronchoscopy (101 males & 66 females),they
had been done by flexible fibroscope (pentaxTM) slim diameter .
Patients has prepared for the endoscopy by local anesthesia on nose ,pharynx and
larynx using Lidocaine
.In few particular cases , the sedation has been done by Midazolam
(5mg) intravenous .
The endoscopy's tolerance was good and no complication that require recovery
occurred .
The indications of the endoscopy were suspected malignancy, 49 cases had
diagnosed in the rate of 56.3%. The disorders had been diagnosed and isolated in the case
of suspected infections in 11 patients in the rate of 45.8%.The tuberculosis had been
diagnosed in 9 patients in the rate of 42.8%.
In hemoptysis cases ,bleeding site and causing factor had causing factor had been
detected in 12 patients in rate of 63%.
In chronic cough cases, the diagnosis had been confirmed in 4 patients in the rate of
50%.
In case of interstitial pulmonary lesions , the diagnosis had been confirmed in 4
patients in the rate of 50%.
After the study ,we emphasize the importance of broncoscopy as survey diagnostic
instrument especially in malignancy cases , other negative tests (blood, sputum ), suspected
infections , tuberculosis ,hemoptysis cases and interstitial lesions .Especially it is external
good tolerances procedure with rare complication.
This study was done to evaluate the effectiveness of premedication with simethicone
or N- acetylcysteine (NAC) on enhancing endoscopic visibility in patient undergoing
Esophagogastroduodenoscopy. This was a Randomized Double –blind Clinical Trial.
The
study included 350 children, ranged in age from 6 months to 15 years. patients were
randomly allocated into three groups to receive one of the following premedications
(: group 1 : Placebo, group 2: N- acetylcysteine, group 3: simehticone) with 10 ml of
water at 20 minutes before Esophagogastroduodenoscopy .It was rated the amount of foam
and air bubbles ,and divided into four degrees from 0 to3 degree, The scores of foam and
air bubbles were compared and the duration of endoscope also compared between the three
groups. The amount of foam/air bubbles was significantly lower in the simeticone group
compared with the placebo and NAC group (p 0,0001) The duration of endoscopy was
shorter in the simeticone group (P 0,0001)
The role of arthroscopic debridement in the treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee is
still controversy.
We present in this work a retrospective series including 22 cases of gonarthrosis
treated with arthroscopic debridement of the knee in the Tr
aumatology orthopedic service
in Alassad hospital in Lattakia in 2013 -2015.
Our objective through this small series was to show the interest of arthroscopic
debridement in this type of knee pathology, improving quality of life for patients.
This study included 12 men (55%),and 10 women (45%) with an average age of 50
years ,with extremes ranging from 44 to 65 years. Clinically ,our patients complained of
mechanical pain in the majority of cases .And all our patients were benefice a clinical
examination and radiological .The Lequesene score was used to assess the condition of the
knee before and after surgery.
The surgical procedure consisted of a joint lavage ,and gestures at the demand :
synovectomy, debridement and excision of fragments meniscal, cartilage or osteophyte.
The postoperative complications were marked by a single case of intra-articular
breaking instrument during surgery.
No cases of hematoma or phlebitis or sepsis have been reported .
The clinical results after a decline of 12 months were satisfactory.
The results depend on good pre-operative planning, and irreproachable technical
gesture.
The experience of operators and technologic advances in has extended its indication.
Introduction: Upper gastrointestinal system endoscopy is a safe and widely used procedure for diagnosis and treatment purposes. Endoscopic procedures can be painful and uncomfortable and patient cooperation is very important for a successful result.
Anxiety and stress are common problem in patients who have to undergo an invasive medical procedure. Anxiety before upper gastrointestinal endoscopy may have adverse consequences and can sometimes hamper successful completion of the procedure. In routine practice, verbal or written communication is used to inform the patient. Mostly this information is focused on the procedure itself and its complications. Aim: To investigate the effect of showing an informative video or providing verbal group education on anxiety and intra procedural co-operation among the patients undergoing upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. Material and methods: sixty gastrointestinal endoscopy patients were randomly assigned to video (20) or verbal information (20) groups or control (20) group. Patients in the video group watched a 7-minute-long video about the necessity of the endoscopic procedure, doctor and patient cooperation, and possible complications, emphasizing the possible feelings the patients might experience. The patients' situational anxiety was measured using the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory’s two scales (STAI-State and STAI-Trait). During the procedure we evaluate the patient's co-operation degree by using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) with the doctors. Conclusions: It can be concluded that information by video helps reduce the anxiety of the patient, increases patient co-operation and the patient is much more readily convinced to undergo another procedure, in cases where a control is needed.
The aim of this study is to adopt Activi- ty Based Costing (ABC) system using a model of six steps in one of the largest private hospital in the Jordanian capital (Amman). The result of the study reveals that adoption of ABC in Endoscopy department p
rovides more accurate information about the costs of medical services which leads to fair market price of all activities achieved in the department which is very useful for compe- tition purposes. Moreover, the result documents the ability of this system in avoiding useless ac- tivities and control costs. Additionally, the result exhibits the ability of ABC system in providing data base and useful information that helps in planning, control and evaluation performance. The study recommends that private hospitals use ABC system which could help them to work in a competitive environment. Also the study recom- mends the necessity of private hospitals to make changes in its accounting information system to t the use of ABC
Reflux Esophagitis was diagnosed in 50 % of Acidic Gastro Esophageal Reflux
Disease cases only.
This study aimed to detect the association between Endoscopic Reflux Esophagitis and acidic
Gastroesophageal Reflux disease.
