This article, will look at the structural development of the high
rise buildings and the factors that led to these developments, and so out
of the basic structural systems, even new classifications for
constructional systems (internal systems external systems), as well as
most construction systems deployed use.
This research includes analytical study by Finite Element Method about the effect of
earthquakes in the stability of ALBASEL DAM, so we have set a numerical model suitable
by using programs Slope/W, Quake/W. We run the model and we got the results
of the
simulation, which summarized in calculation factors of safety for verification the final
stability of the dam under the effect of different intensity earthquakes. And then were
compared between the two cases static and dynamic model showing the effect of the shear
variables of the soil angle of internal friction and tendency of slops dam and the different
situations of the lake water levels and the high of dam in addition to the effect of the
construction material of the dam on the stability of the body of the dam.
After the study each case depending on the parameters, that are entered, and based
on the resulting factors of safety, the diagrams are painted to appear the positive or the
negative effects to increase or decrease any variable of the dam variables in each of the
static case and the dynamic case. And then we studied the effect of seismic Amplification
resulting from the body of the dam on both the two horizontal and vertical component of
seismic acceleration. The results will help us in a perfect choice for variables of
Embankment dams for design.
This search includes studying of automated mobile cranes to reduce incidence of
inversing which often happens due to payload swaying that requires controlling system at
the crane's site to reach Target position and another controlling system to red
uce payload
swaying as possible while the crane is in motion.
Despite the development of controlling systems that adjust the operation and
functions of these cranes, the repetition of accidental tips in these cranes lead us to look for
hybrid fuzzy controlling system comparing it with PID controlling system. So, it will
improve the performance of these cranes through the reduction of payload swaying and
precise control of crane’s position.
The PID controller and Hybrid Fuzzy PID controller were simulated using Matlab
Software and the results were compared to reach the best controlling system for the crane.
The Seismic design for nuclear facilities has been subject of complex
analysis of the type usually performed for nuclear power plants. For the
purpose of ensuring seismic safety for nuclear facilities with limited
radioactive inventory, a simplifi
ed approach was adopted by the IAEA
safety guides with emphasis on appropriate construction and detailing
principles rather than sophisticated dynamic analysis. This work presents
the equivalent static approach, with an application for a frame element, a
dynamic analysis is also achieved using a computer program (DRAIN –
2DX) with real (time – history earthquake) for the purpose of
comparison, the results lead to some observations and notes which have
to be taken into account for the seismic safety design.
