Recent technological developments have led to a major development in the ebusiness
environment, announcing the emergence of the new term “knowledge economy”
as one of the most important economic nomenclatures. E-commerce which is considered as
one
of the most significant applications of this economy has evolved a lot in the last decade
according to the evolution of its revenue in many countries around the world.
E-commerce contributes to the economic development through its positive impact on
a range of economic indicators such as GDP and export development. The aim of this
research is to study whether there was a correlation between the development of electronic
commerce and the amount of Syrian exports and imports during the period between 2000
and 2010. The results showed a good correlation between the above mentioned variables,
but with no possibility to assert whether it was a causal correlation in the light of general
economic conditions in Syria during that period.
يمثل الناتج المحلي الإجمالي أحد المصادر الأساسية للدخل القومي لدولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، إذ يسهم هذا الناتج بنسبة لا تقل عن ( 90 %) في الدخل القومي الإجمالي للدولة.
و أسهمت إمارة أبو ظبي ما بين ( 53- 62 %) في الناتج المحلي الإجمالي خلال السنوات
( 1990 -2009 م)،في حين أسهمت إمارة دبي بين ( 24%-35 %)

This paper aims to examine the relationship between stock prices and
macroeconomic variables in the United States using quarterly data for the period
1988 to 2012. We dentify five macroeconomic variables ( i.e, gross domestic
product, inflation, r
eal money supply, Treasury bill rate, and oil prices) that
researchers have linked to stock prices. We then examine the relationship
between these macroeconomic variables and the S&P500 by estimating
cointegration system using Johansen technique. Moreover, this paper will use
Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) to test the short run relationships. Also,
we use variance decomposition technique to understand which macroeconomic
variable have more explantory power of the variation in the S&P500.
