Multi user multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems provide high capacity with the benefits of space division multiple access. The channel state information at the base station (BS) or access point (AP) is very important since it allows joint processing of all users’ signals which results in a significant performance improvement and increased data rates. If the channel state information is available at the BS/AP, it can be used to efficiently eliminate or suppress multi-user interference (MUI) by beamforming or by using ”dirty-paper” codes. The precoding also allows us to perform most of the complex processing at the BS/AP which results in a simplification of users’ terminals. Linear precoding techniques have an advantage in terms of computational complexity. Non-linear techniques have a higher computational complexity and require some signaling overhead but can provide a better performance than linear techniques. In this research we compare the performance of several linear techniques through simulation using a program MATLAB (R2014a) for multi-user MIMO system. The Sum Rate and the BER resulting from the use of linear pre-coding techniques corporation to SNR [dB] and the number of base station antennas (NBS) will be analyzed and compared. In comparison between the multi-user MIMO Beamforming Linear techniques, we found that the single-value analysis (SVD) technology performs better than the other linear techniques in terms of achieving higher sum-rate and the bit error rate (BER) is relatively less.

The employment of multiple antennas at the transmission and reception side for the formation of a MIMO system contributed significantly to improve the reliability of transmission and increase the data rate. In the last decade, this system represent ed the backbone of wireless communications which paved the way for the development of many techniques in this area. Therefore, there is a need to study the most important of these techniques and compare its performance analysis. This research deals with several closed-loop MIMO techniques : (P-OSM) which maximizes the minimum Euclidean distance in the received signal constellation in order to reduce the bit error rate, (X and Y Precoders) which improve the diversity gain of MIMO system. The aim is to study and analysis the performance of previous techniques in practical scenarios of wireless communication systems in the presence of limited feedback channel. The results shows the possibility of practical employment of the P-OSM technique in a simple way compared to other techniques due to its good performance and low complexity order.
This paper presents a method for finding online adaptive optimal controllers for continuous-time linear systems without knowing the system dynamical matrices. The proposed method employs one of Intelligent Operations Research Techniques, this tech nique is the adaptive dynamic programming, to iteratively solve the algebraic Riccati equation using the online information of state and input, without requiring the a priori knowledge of the system dynamics. In addition, all iterations can be conducted by using repeatedly the same state and input information on some fixed time intervals. A practical online algorithm is developed in this paper, and is applied to the controller design for a turbocharged diesel engine with exhaust gas recirculation.
Sentence weighting is a simple and powerful domain adaptation technique. We carry out domain classification for computing sentence weights with 1) language model cross entropy difference 2) a convolutional neural network 3) a Recursive Neural Tensor Network. We compare these approaches with regard to domain classification accuracy and and study the posterior probability distributions. Then we carry out NMT experiments in the scenario where we have no in-domain parallel corpora and and only very limited in-domain monolingual corpora. Here and we use the domain classifier to reweight the sentences of our out-of-domain training corpus. This leads to improvements of up to 2.1 BLEU for German to English translation.
This paper explores character-driven story continuation, in which the story emerges through characters' first- and second-person narration as well as dialogue---requiring models to select language that is consistent with a character's persona and the ir relationships with other characters while following and advancing the story. We hypothesize that a multi-task model that trains on character dialogue plus character relationship information improves transformer-based story continuation. To this end, we extend the Critical Role Dungeons and Dragons Dataset (Rameshkumar and Bailey, 2020)---consisting of dialogue transcripts of people collaboratively telling a story while playing the role-playing game Dungeons and Dragons---with automatically extracted relationships between each pair of interacting characters as well as their personas. A series of ablations lend evidence to our hypothesis, showing that our multi-task model using character relationships improves story continuation accuracy over strong baselines.
