According to the importance of economic solar ponds in domestic and industrial daily practical applications and its international widespread, this created the basis of an experimental study on a prismatic solar pond. Water erosion is considered one of the most prominent and dangerous forms of soil erosion, especially in the coastal region, where it rains in large quantities. Consequently, this results in sweeping away tons of soil into the river streams; some of this will be deposited in the rivers, some in the dam lakes constructed on these rivers, while the rest will be deposited in the sea into which rivers flow. The aims of this study are to calculate the ratio between the amount of sediments related to water erosion of the soil and the amount of the sediments transported in Zgaro River which reach the lake of 16 Tishreen Dam, and to suggest the appropriate solutions which will insure reducing the sedimentation rate and its correlated negative impacts. This study demonstrates the characteristics of the watershed of Zgaro River using Watershed Modeling System (WMS 7.1), and also the calculation of the total amount of sediments related to water erosion of the soil in the area of study, applying the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE). The amount of sediments transported by water was also calculated using internationally recognized measuring devices. These devices were manufactured for the purpose of this study. A total of 24886 tons of transported sediments was measured in Zgaro River, constituting 36% of the total annual amount of 69401 tons of sediments resulting from water erosion of the soil. This value comprises the actual amount of sediments deposited in the lake of 16 Tishreen Dam, which is then transported through the river stream. Consequently, this sedimentation has resulted in a downward trend of the reservoir capacity of the dam lake. These findings require feasible solutions to reducing the rate of sedimentation and its correlated negative impacts.
The disposal of solid waste is one of the most important contemporary environmental issues. Increasing population and what has been associated with the change in the patterns and lifestyles and increased consumption led to increasing the amount of pr oduced waste and its quality, especially in cities; the estimated amount of solid waste produced daily in the city of Latakia was 840 tons. Thus, there is an urgent need to follow the techniques in the management of solid waste in all stages to maintain human health and protect the environment from pollution. This study as a whole aims to estimate the amount and characteristics of solid waste, the methods used to collect and analyze the spatial distribution of the current waste collection containers in areas of the city of Latakia, better planning commensurate with its population and the amount of waste produced using GIS technology. To accomplish this, we have a comprehensive field survey to collect the waste containers in the study area where they were monitoring their locations and identifying characteristics; we relied on statistical analytical approach in the recruitment of data that have been obtained, and used the map to the city of Latakia Tags. And, through the program (ARC GIS 9.3) the data has been entered and processed, linked and analyzed using analysis tools attached to the program, exit maps and various forms that serve the study. The study concludes that the current number of containers is not enough when discharged per day, and that the spatial distribution is not commensurate with the amount of waste produced in areas of the city .

In this research a study effect of absorbed surface shape for solar air collector (Flat V-Corrugated ,Sinusoidal Wave-Corrugated ,Rectangular-Corrugated) titled to the horizontal by an angle(30) on forced heat transfer and skin friction coefficient by Fluent Numerical Program at constant solar heat flax (530W/m2) with Reynold’s number (5000≤Re≤8000). The government equation (mass, momentum and energy) are using Finite Volume by (Fluent 6.3) software for considering steady state, two dimensional and turbulent flow. The results show that the different between inlet and outlet air temperature is(13.65oC) and best heat transfer coefficient enhancement is(63%) for (V-Corrugated plate) compared with the flat plate at (Re=8000). Also the results show that the maximum skin friction coefficient is occurred at (V-Corrugated) Cf=0.22 at (Re=8000).
The objectives of this research were to study the effect of moisture content and temperature of corn stored in where-houses and out-doors for production and determination of Aflatoxin B1 in Syria. 200 tons of corn crops was used for our experiment , and was divided 100 tons each for storage out-doors and in-doors respectively according to General Company of Feed Stuff in Syria. Samples had been taken for 12 months by using stratified random sampling method.
