The aim of this study was diagnosis and conservative treatment of Pyometra in dogs with antiprogestins (such as Aglepriston) and prolactin inhibiting (Cabergoline) associated with synthetic PGF2α (Cloprostinol) will replace ovariohysterectomy. Tw enty-three dogs (8,5 ± 3,2 years old and 5-35 kg weight) from different breeds with know breeding history and open or closed type of Pyometra, were used in this study. All dogs underwent a general and gynecological examination including Ultrasonography.
This research aims to inspect the defects and discontinuities in steel billet by ultrasonic detector. Straight beam probe used to detect a lot number of imported steel billets that clearly have internal defects. The results showed the possibility of initial detection by straight beam probe, and initial defining the types of defects such as, micro and macro cracks, shrinkage defect, blow holing, inclusion, porosity and others type of internal defects. The experiments showed that if the necessity is defining the size of defects, this requires angle beam probe in addition to straight beam probe.
Prenatal detection of congenital heart disease is possible from the 16th week of pregnancy. the ideal time being the Midtrimester ,when the most cardiac abnormalities can be detected ,where all routine cross sectional views are easily obtainable. To evaluate the detection and accuracy of fetal echocardiography for congenital heart defects among high risk pregnancies.
The study is carried on 65 pregnant patients attending the outpatient clinics and inpatient department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Al Assad University Hospital from February- 2013 until February- 2014. They were divided to three groups. The fir st is preterm labor with intact membranes (25 patients). The second is PROM (20 patients). The third one is control group (20 patients). All of them were submitted to ultrasonography to find cervical changes (cervical canal length and diameter of internal os in order to predict preterm delivery. Cervical canal length has a sensitivity of 91.43%, a specificity of 100%, a positive predictive value of 100%, a negative predictive value of 76.92%, and a relative risk (95% CI) of 4.33 (1.61-11.69) among patients with short cervical canal length and those with normal cervix. Diameter of internal os as a predictor of preterm delivery has a sensitivity of 60%, a specificity of 60%, a positive predictive value of 84%, a negative predictive value of 30%, and a relative risk (95% CI) of 1.2 (0.86–1.68).
