Aim: Study of advantages of retrobulbar anesthesia and its complications in posterior vitrectomy using 0.5% bupivacaine with lidocaine 2% Materials and Methods: Number of study patients: 1000 patients who underwent a retrobulbar anesthesia using a combination of 4 ml bupivacaine 0.5% + 6 ml lidocaine 2% for a Pars-planaposterior vitrectomy. Results: Patients aged between 16-85 years, 55% of whom were males and 45% females, the indications of the Pars-plana vitrectomy were: 45% diabetic retinopathy, 15% macular hole, 10 lens-luxation , 7% artificial lens dislocation, 5% chorioiditis,5% posttraumatic vitreous haemorrhage , 5% macular pucker, 5% rhegmtogenous retinal detachment, 5% intraocular foreign body, 0.5% endophthalmitis. Complications: 0.4% retrobulbar hemorrhage, 2% elevated intraocular pressure, 0.2%, expulsive choreoidale haemorrhage, pain 8%, fear, anxietyand tension 0.2%, eyelid haematome 4%, patient movement 1.3% , diplopia 1%, ptosis 1,3%, low heart rate and low arterial pressure 0.3%. Conclusion : retrobulbar anesthesia is recommended with the combination of bupivacain and lidocaine in the posterior vitreorectomy, with some exceptions such as drug allergies, single eye, high myopy, advanced optic nerve lesions, children, no coopertion.
The study was conducted on 18 Shami goat Kids in the Agricultural Scientific Research Center in Hama, their age was 150 days, to ages and weights, reaching an average of 23.2kg, and they were dived into three groups(6 per group) depending on the sour ce of the protein included in the composition. The died for each of them 14%(as a 100% unshelled cotton gain for the first group, 100% soybean gain for the second group, a 50% unpeeled cotton gain and 50% soybean gain for the third group). Blood samples from the jugular vein were collected from all test subjects before starting feeding on the feed. Watch after one, two and three months from the start of feeding. Gifts blood samples were analyzed in all groups and a study of the indicators of glucose, general protein, albumin and globulin in blood serum to assess the energy and protein metabolism of gifts, when feeding on these diets. The results showed a significant increase (ᴘ≤0.05) in the concentration of glucose in gifts after two months of experience in the three groups, but this was the highest increase in the second group versus the control and the first and third groups, then its concentration decreased after that. A significant increase (ᴘ≤0.05) was observed with the concentration of the total protein in the blood serum after a month of the experiment. The total protein concentration decreased after three months in the blood kids in second and third groups compared with the first and control groups. The albumin concentration decreased after two months (ᴘ≤0.05) in the first group compared with second, third and control, also it's decreased after three months in the first and third groups compared with the second and control. The globulin concentration in the blood serum increased after one month in the three groups compared with the control, then in two months decreased( not significant) in the three groups, and after three months decreased (ᴘ≤0.05) the globulin concentration in the second and third groups. The increase in the weights of gift items in the groups was respectively: the first group 9.45kg (95g ∕ day), the second group 13.6kg (136g ∕day) and the third group 10.45kg (106g ∕day). We conclude that the energy and protein metabolic indicators were the best in the second group feeding 100% soybean meal as a protein source, which can reduce the period for fattening gifts and reflect positively on economic side and income generation.
This study was carried out using white German goat race during 2000-2001 at the Research Center of Animal Production Division, Humboldt University, Berlin, in order to examine the validity of the Lactocorder instrument, which has been used for det ermination of milking curve of cows, to determine the milking curve of goat, and to study the timing changes of this curve.
In this study, ٢٦٥٠ slaughtered Awassi sheep and ٩٠٠ goats had been searched for the presence of Hydatid-Cyst and Cysticercus tenuicollis. As a result of this investigation, ٩,٦٩٪ of sheep and ٢٢٪ of goats were found to be infested with the Hydati d-Cyst, whereas ٢٤٪ of sheep and ٣٦٪ of goats were found to be infested with the Cysticercus tenuicollis. The infestation ratio was found to be higher in pasture animals older than one year. The Hydatid-Cyst was found either in the Liver or in the lung and the Extensity of infestation was more frequent in the liver than in the lung. All kinds of Hydatid-Cyst such as the fertilized, sterilized, classified, or caseinied were found in this investigation.
This study was carried out at Hamah Research Centre during 2014/ 2015 season on Shami goat flock (25 heads) in late pregnancy to determine some indicators of pregnancy toxemia in Shami goat. The blood samples were taken from both groups at differe nt stages of late pregnancy to be used in several biochemistry tests (BHB, NEFA, glucose, total protein, albumin and triglyceride). The blood tests showed a significant increase (p≤0.01- 0.001) in BHB and NEFA, and a significant decrease (p≤0.05) in glucose during 2- 3 weeks antepartum, but one week antepartum for the albumin. But regarding triglyceride it was high (p≤0.05) during 1- 3 weeks antepartum. It was noticed a trend to acidic pH in urine of the tested animals. Also, the acetone was positive (+++) one week before partum. In conclusion, it is important to evaluate some clinical and biochemical parameters, besides acetone and pH estimation in urine for the early diagnosis of risks of pregnancy toxemia in Shami goat’s prior the birth time. This can give time for owners to take some protection procedures.
