Celiac disease is a condition in which the immune system responds abnormally to a protein called gluten , and leads to many gastrointestinal and systemic effects . There are four categories of celiac disease : (classical, atypical, silent and latent) . The diagnosis of celiac disease is established by a combination of the history , physical examination , serological tests , upper endoscopy results and multiple biopsies of the duodenum . This research is designed to study the correlation between the titres of Anti TTg IgA and between the severity of histological changes in the biopsy , and to study the correlation between the severity of clinical manifestations and between the degree of villous atrophy . The study included the adult patients who presented to Al-Assad University Hospital and Tishreen University Hospital during the period 2015- 2016 . We measured Anti tTG IgA titers . when the results were positive, patients went to upper endoscopy with duodenal biopsies . The diagnosis of celiac disease was made on the base of positive antibodies and the presence of duodenal biopsy of Marsh ≥ 2 . The results : 79 patients had positive IgA Anti tTG , and they had duodenal biopsies , the diagnosis of celiac disease was made in 71 of them . The celiac disease was found in % 89.873 of the study group . We found no correlation between the titers of Anti TTg IgA and between sex or age. The clinical manifestations varied , iron deficiency anemia was the most common (%49.3) and abdominal pain (%39.4) . Also, we found no correlation between the titers of Anti tTG IgA and between the severity of clinical manifestations or laboratory results . There was no correlation between the degree of histological damage and between the severity of clinical manifestations . We noticed that histological injury had progressed whenever the titers of Anti tTG IgA had raised . We were able to determine the titer of Anti tTG IgA in which it was diagnostic for celiac disease without the need for duodenal biopsies with sensitivity of 80.3% and specificity equivalent to 100% and this titer was : (the upper limit of the laboratory's normal serum value multiplied by 11.35). We have reached that mild enteropathy in celiac disease is a serious problem that requires strict adherence to a free gluten diet in order to prevent from the complications of the disease .

Artificial intelligence review:
Research summary
Critical review

The nose plays an important role in diagnosis and in orthodontic and surgical treatment plan. The aim of this study is to evaluate the relationship between the nose shape and the underlying hard structures. This study has been done in orthodontic d epartment / Damascus University.
Type 2 Diabetes mellitus T2DM has been suggested to be the most common metabolic disorder associated with magnesium deficiency which has many adverse outcomes. The aim of this study was to evaluate plasma Mg in 126 T2DM patients recruited from Dia betes Centre in Lattakia, compare them to 70 healthy individuals, and assess the correlation between plasma Mg and HbA1c as a glycemic control biomarker. Magnesium was measured using xylidyl blue colorimetric method. HbA1c was measured using ion-exchange resin separation. The SPSS 19.0 software was used for statistical analysis. Mean plasma Mg concentrations of the diabetics was significantly lower than controls (P=0.0001). Plasma magnesium was negatively correlated with HbA1c (r=-0.5, P=0.0002). Plasma magnesium was below the normal reference range (1.9-2.5 mg/dL) in 47.6% of diabetics and 28.6% of controls. In conclusion, it is important to monitor Mg levels in both T2DM patients and non-diabetics and take procedures to correct hypomagnesaemia states.
Varicose veins affects about 10-59% of the population. Varicose is a clinical reflection of the progressive failure in the veins of the lower limbs. Venous insufficiency is caused by structural imbalances in all layers of the wall of the vein, hence, the importance of morphologic and statistical studies of the varicose veins of the lower limbs and comparison with normal veins. We had surgery for varicose 43 patients. We examined all samples of varicose veins and normal veins of three patients with pathological studies. Average age was 40.58 years. The study was done macroscopically and microscopically, taking different histological sections of varicose and normal veins. Routine and special Dyes were used, in order to detect changes in the compositional elements of the vein wall. We reached the following conclusions and recommendations: the presence of certain changes in the quality and quantity in all pathologic samples along connective tissue elements and smooth muscle fibers, distributed in all layers of the wall of the vein definitively; the need to start treating varicose veins early as possible in order to avoid its development and access to complications; it is useful to attempt to study the relationship between the appearance of varicose veins and blood group of the patient.
Background& Objective: Prosthodontists always do their best in order to make dentures that fulfill all the functional and esthetic requirements of the patients. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the relationship between patients’ satisfaction with traditional complete dentures and clinical measures of denture quality, which include clinical assessment of retention, stability, support, occlusion, esthetics and speech. Materials & Methods: 104 patients participated in our study (65 males, 39 females). The range of their ages was (40 – 78) years (median=60.9). Traditional complete dentures were made for all these patients, and then they were followed for 4-6 weeks. After that, a questionnaire was filled for each patient. This questionnaire includes questions about patient satisfaction and assessment of the new denture. The clinical measures of quality of the denture were also assessed by a prosthodontist. Results: The results of this study showed that there was a poor significant relationship between patients’ rating of the retention of their dentures and the clinical measures of retention, stabililty and support (r<0.04). At each of the surveyed situations, the patient considered their dentures better than the examiner did (P<0.05). There was also a poor, significant relationship between the accuracy of reproduction of centric relation and the patient ability to masticate with his denture(r=0.27). Conclusion: Within the limits of this study, it can be concluded that clinical measures of denture quality affect the retention of the denture as perceived by the patient. They also affect the comfort of the patient during mastication. For that, the dentist must always do his best to make dentures with enhanced quality. On the other hand, clinical measures of quality are not the only factor that affects the patient satisfaction with denture.
