In this research work, an epoxy polymer- Carbon Black composite has been prepared and characterized regarding the effects of adding carbon black to epoxy polymer on some structural properties such as polymerization behavior, cross-linking reaction time and yield and some properties e. g. glass transition temperature (Tg), Young modulus (E) and flexural strength (σ). The cross-linking reaction and glass transition temperature were studied by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), and the mechanical tests were done by Universal Testing Machine.
The effect of different treatments on carob seed germination was studied. The results showed that, seed scarification was the most effective method in increasing germination rate as well as the use of concentrated sulfuric acid for 30 minutes reac hing 100%, followed by the treatment with alcohol for 60 minutes, and immersing seeds in hot water for 60 minutes. The results also indicated that the speed of germination when seeds were scarified was the best (I.D.=14.5), followed by the treatment with concentrated sulfuric acid for 30 minutes (I.D.=21.5), alcohol for 60 minutes (I.D.= 38) and immersing seeds in hot water for 60 minutes (ID.=60).
This study includes an experimental work to determine the effect of ultraviolet radiation (uv-rays) on the mechanical behavior of the conveyor rubber vulcanizing, which used in various transport operations, and in the cement plant Tartus. In this wor k, it has been prepared different samples of belts, and they were exposed to uv radiation at differente times, then they were tested to know its wear and tensile strength. The results were compared with samples similar to the samples tested, which was not exposed to the rays of UV, and with other samples exposed to temperatures, and that in order to reach the ideal conditions for the use of these belts, which ensures longer period of use and safe conditions. This study showed that uv-rays increase the average of wear and the tensile strength of belts.
In this research, has been studied the spread of chromium atoms mechanism, and mechanical and chemical and properties of the diffusion chrome coating layer in low carbon steel, which is considered one of the surface treatment techniques. Where many p ractical experiences were carried out in the powdery saturation milieu to form a diffusion coating layer containing atomic chromium who will spread inside the painted surface, and has studied some mechanical and chemical properties after doing diffusion chrome coating. The tests results showed that the tensile strength and micro hardness and chemical corrosion resistance improved after the diffusion chrome coating, also increased the depth of coating layer By increasing the retention time in the oven and temperature, where this relationship is reflected with curve of the second degree. Conversely ductility decreased. Search results confirm the possibility of using diffusion chrome coating as a promising treatment in raising the efficiency of machinery elements that prone to oxidation or chemical corrosion in different temperatures.
The research was carried out in the center of the Research and Improvement of Sheep and Camels in salamiah. The study was conducted on 9 female camels, within semi-open barns, semiintensive care system, and the camels were fed on mixtures of barl ey, vetch and some concentrated fodder, Fodder mixtures were determined to suit the nutritional needs of the physiological and age-related condition of the study. The herd was also applied to the preventive vaccination system according to the preventive immunity program.
