Four species of native birds, two migrants and one species could not be encountered were used to study their biology and behavior in Damascus and its suburbs, despite continuous monitoring for six years. This research with its detailed biological and behavioral results is considered to be a contribution to studying biodiversity of Syrian birds. This leads eventually not only to protect and save endangered creatures , but creates suitable conditions for their reproduction and consequently increasing their numbers .

It is evident that mercury and its use in healthcare institutions have attracted the attention of academics, research centers and governments. This paper conducts a preliminary induction analysis of the awareness level of healthcare providers at some hospitals in Damascus about some key issues related to mercury. It employed the statistical approach mainly the random sampling method to answer its questions and fulfill its aims. The data obtained from questionnaires were processed by Excel. The paper found differences in awareness and training levels among healthcare providers with regards to methods of exposure and mercury transition to human body. It further identified sever weakness in testing and measuring the exposure of healthcare providers to mercury. The study pointed that there is an urgent need to train medical doctors and dentists with regards to the storage procedures of mercury and disposal methods of material and tools containing mercury. Finally, the research found that education efforts both at individual (personal) and aggregate (institutional) levels in all issues related to mercury are unsatisfactory.
This study is aimed at studying the effect of using four species of bacteria Plant Growth Promotion Rhizobacteria (PGPR) Azotobacter chroococcum, Rhizobium leguminosarum, Bacillus megaterium and Frateuriaaurantia on the growth, yield and reducing the effect of Cucumber mosaic virus(CMV) on pepper plants in a greenhouse experiment. The observed growth parameters were: plant height, foliage fresh weight, root fresh weight, fruit weight in a green house expirment in Tartous in the season 2016/2017.
The research aimed to compare the phenological, morphological and biochemical characterestics of plain and curly-leafed parsley hybrids. The hybrids were similar in germination percentage and leave number as well as in the content of NO3. Signific ant differences were observed in leaf area of plain and curly-leafed hybrid (21.23 vs. 10.87 cm2), stem length (11.68 vs. 5.42 cm), fresh (56.8 vs. 31.95 g) and dry weight (4 and 1.92 g, respectively). Comparing to plain-leafed, the curly-leafed hybrid had a twice thicker stem, higher chlorophyll, carotene and vitamin C contents (37,45, and 14.61%, respectively).
