This study investigated the Persistence of Deltamethrin on Apple, Grape, Tomato and Cucumber. as follows:The grape and apple trees were sprayed with Deltamethrin at rate 250 Cm3/ha, while Cucumber and tomato were sprayed with Deltamethrin at rate 150 cm3/ha. The half-life of Deltamethrin was 5.36, 5.78, 2.32, 2.11 days on grape, apple, tomato and cucumber respectively. The calculated safety periods of Deltamethrin were 7, 4, 0, 3 days for grape, apple, cucumber and tomato respectively. Although the pesticide container label, states that crops can be consumed immediately after spraying.
In this research, 66 samples of tomatoes were collected from vegetables central market in Darr´aa city during the period extended between 20 October/2009 - 4 October/2010) to investigate the presence of 26 pesticide residues which belong to differ ent chemical classes using Gas Chromatography instruments equipped with μECD, FPD, MSD detectors. QuEChERS extraction method was used for residue extraction from tomato samples. The detectors linearity and pesticide detection limits were determined for every pesticide studied, and the recovery for all pesticides ranged from 90.6 for fenvalerate to 105.5% for propargite. Results showed that 56.1% of tomato samples contained detectable residues and Chlorpyrifos and cypermethrin were the most detected pesticides, while amounts of propargite, methamidofos, cypermethrin, chlorpyrifos were the largest detected and mounted to 0.99, 0.15, 0.015, 0.012 mg/kg respectively as a median values. Residues of methamidofos in only 2 samples were above the European MRLs.,
The cucumber plants grown in field were sprayed with methomyl at dose (60-g a.i./100 liter water). The objectives of this work were to study role of somehome Preparation (washing and peeling) in elimination of methomyl residues from contaminated cu cumber fruits. The washing processes caused removal of residues methomyl from contaminated cucumber fruits that collected at intervals: 1,3 days after one application by percent loss reached: 72,60 %, respectively. The percent loss reached: 37.7, 45.8 % in cucumber fruits that collected at intervals: 0, 2 days, respectively after two applications. The peeling processes caused removal of residues methomyl from cucumber fruits that collected at intervals: 0, 3 days after one application by percent loss reached: 58.75, 57.14 %, respectively. and in cucumber fruits that collected at intervals : 0, 2 and 3 days after two applications ,the percent loss was: 55, 62.7 and 34.6 %, respectively.
This study was carried out on soil samples collected from Damascus country side (Alghota – Jesrin), in order to study the impact of organochlorine insecticides resulted from heavy use for a long time. The duration of experiment was ١١ monthes cove ring four season condition. Samples were taken from two levels, the surface (١٠ cm) and the deep levels (٣٠-٤٥ cm). Soil samples were extracted by acetone, hexane and chloroform solvents. Residues were detected by using GC.
This study was conducted to examine the effect of storage period and fruit wrapped of two local grapes varieties (Balady and Helwany) using polyethylene bags of 50 μm thickness on some losses of grapes berry . the study estimated the weight loss p ercent, berry shatter, berry spoilage and the total losses for the varieties as a function to storage period and packing of grapes berry. Results showed that there is a high correlation between the storage period and the weight loss, berry shatter, spoilage and the total losses of fruits, where this action started after 3 weeks of the beginning of storage. The average percents of weight loss after 100 days storage were 11.75 % and 8.43% for Balady and Helwany respectively, the berry shatter percents were 6.20% and 5.52% respectively for Balady and Helwany, the spoilage percents were 9.50% and 7.20% for Balady and Helwany respectively and the total losses for tow varieties were 20.1% and 13.63% for Balady and Helwany respectively. The previous values decreased clearly by using bags of polyethylene of 50 μm thickness as follows: 9.47% and % 6.82 for weight losses, 3.10 % and 1.8% for berry shatter, 7.20% and 3.51% for spoilage and the total losses 16% and 10.1% for Balady and Helwany respectively.
