This paper aimed to present additional records of Honeycomb stingray Himantura uarnak (Forskal, 1775) (Chondrichthyes: Dasyatidae) off the Syrian coast (Eastern Mediterranean). Two specimens were captured in Syrian waters (Tartous coast) 35º 55’ 31”E and 34º 42’ 40’’ N. The first specimen was an adult female, and the second an adult male; they measured 1078 mm and 840 mm disk width, and weighed 31.450 kg and 15.580 kg, respectively. Morphometric measurements were recorded to the nearest millimeter, and reported as percentage of the disk width (%DW). Pieces of skin and tail were deposited in the Ichthyological collection of the Marine Sciences Laboratory, Agriculture Faculty of Tishreen University, Syria.

Research summary
Critical review

This paper aimed to present the first record of Pterois miles (Bennet, 1828) off the Syrian coast (Eastern Mediterranean). Two specimens (159; 206 mm SL) were captured in Syrian waters between Lattakia and Jableh in 28th September 2015 and 10th Dec ember 2015. This first record of common lionfish Pterois miles in the Syrian coast could confirm the occurrence of this species in the Levant Basin (eastern Mediterranean). This is the fifth record of the species reported to date in the region. These records are not sufficient to state that the species is substantially established in the area, but investigations are rapidly needed to avoid unfavorable consequences on local environment and economy.
Doulty is a very important economic project that fit investment climate in the Syrian coast, Recommendation was the need to encourage the establishment of such projects in the Syrian coast, because of its economic feasibility.
Through this research, case studies were reviewed which reviewed the dermatology department at Tishreen University Hospital in Lattakia and specialized centers for leishmaniasis and parasitic diseases in Lattakia and Tartous governorates from the beg inning of April 2018 until the end of December 2019. Where Syria is one of the areas endemic with cutaneous leishmaniasis, as we have noticed in recent years the number of skin infections has increased dramatically in all Syrian governorates, which has made leishmaniasis an important health problem that warrants study. In order to isolate and determine the type and strains of the parasite responsible for skin injuries in Syria, in order to develop a plan to combat this disease and limit its spread. Microscopy and transplantation methods are the gold standard for diagnosing cutaneous leishmaniasis, especially in poor areas where this disease is common. Through this study it was found that the age group most exposed to infection is between 16 - 40 years and that the highest incidence was among males. As for the distribution of skin lesions, the highest percentage was recorded on the face, upper and lower extremities.
This study aims to define bird species that use artificial lakes in Syrian coast, and evaluate their population size for management and protection of wildlife. Four different sites were chosen in Syrian coast, which considered the most important ar tificial lakes. Point counts method was used in bird survey in November, December, January, February, March in 2011. 15 waterbird species were recorded belonging to 9 family and 6 order. Wading birds were the main component of waterbird (60% of all species) in Syrian coast. Populations size was 1 to 300 individuals. Diversity of birds and their Populations were greatest in sites which are rich in food ( especially fish). The results showed a difference in composition of bird communities in studied sites.
In this study, 200 Tittigoniids specimens were collected from 32 locations in Syrian coast during 2012 and 2013 seasons. Morphological and taxonomical aspects of collected specimens have been studied. Identification keys of families, genera, and s pecies were recorded according to the most important taxonomic features. A total of eighth genera recorded and classified, and these were: Phaneroptera nana, Phaneroptera sparsa, Acrometopa syriaca, Tylopsis lilifolia, Conocephalus conocephalus, Conocephalus maculatus, Conocephalus concolor. The species Isopya savigny was considered the first record in Syria.
