This research aims at studying the effect of irrigation with different levels of NaCl on the growth and development of Syrian pears (Pyrus syriaca). The results showed that: 1. This research was conducted in seedling area belonging to Tishreen University and in the Coast seedling belonging to Agricultural Directorate in Lattakia. Results has shown that, the pear variety Cocia grafted on pear Syrian rootstock was significa ntly better than pear variety Williams and Quince variety Saidawi grafted on the same rootstock, where the percentage of grafting were 100%, 90% and 66.67% consequently, and in the next year 93.33%, 76.67% and 54.00% consequently. Results has shown a good agreement between a variety Cocia and a used rootstock in comparison with the tow other varieties. The results of analytical calculation has shown that, the variety Cocia was better than the tow other varieties Williams and Saidawi in graft-height, also, Williams variety was better than Saidawi variety, and this confirm that, the Cocia variety in medium growth when it grafted on pear Syrian rootstock, whereas, Williams variety was in poor growth and Saidawi variety was very poor in growth when they were grafted on the same rootstalk especially in the first years of grafting.
This study was conducted on the type of the Syrian pear, Pyrus syriaca. Boiss spread wildly in the Qardaha area in Lattakia governorate during the years 2012-2013 AD. Nine phenotypic phenotypes scattered in different locations (Ain Al-Arous - Deir Hanna - Basin) were studied, where the results showed that there were differences in some traits out of 14 studied phenotypic traits.
A study was conducted on one type of Syrian pears ‘Pyrus syriaca. Boiss’ which is widespread in Al-Qardahah area/Lattakia during 2012-2013. 9 superficial models were studied, these are scattered in different locations (Ein Al Aaros , Derhana, and B sin). The results revealed the existence of differences in some of the characteristics, out of 13 morphological studied characteristics. A cluster analysis showed a division in the studied models. Two main groups can be distinguished: the first group included the following models (P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, P6), whereas the second group included the following models (P7, P8, P9). These two main groups are further divided into 4 subgroups which can be considered independent morphological Models. The first main group contains the first and second subgroups with a similarity value 0.62. The first subgroup contains P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, and it is symbolized as A; while the second subgroup contains P6 and it is symbolized as B. The second main group contains the first and second subgroups with a similarity value 0.77. The first subgroup contains P7, P9 and it is symbolized as C; whereas the second subgroup contains P8 symbolized as D. The research indicates that there is a difference in the seed germination percentage of the studied models. The seeds and embryos of P9 gave the highest germination percentage, while the seeds and embryos of P6 gave the fastest germination percentage.
This study was carried out in 2009-2011, in the laboratories of science faculty - Tishreen University. The seeds of three genotypes: Sham8, Sakha8,AUS 29639 of bread wheat were planted in hydroponic cultures irrigated with Hoagland liquid in a grow th chamber to compare the effect of three salt concentrations (0, 100,200 mm of NaCl) on proline and carbohydrate contents in three growth stages 21, 28, 35 of the experiment. There was an increase of proline and carbohydrate contents in all cultivars with increased salinity during the three growth stages of plants. Proline contents increased in Sham8 with low rates compare with Sakha8, AUS 29639. It increased in Sakha8 with the increase of salinity which reached 348% in the third growth stage in concentration 200 mm NaCl, while Proline concentration reached the highest value in AUS 29639 (524%). The carbohydrate content reached the highest value in Sakha8 in NaCl concentration 200 in the first growth stage (238070%) compared with the control, and (204.34%) in third stage in NaCl concentration 200mM compare with the control. The results of the study indicate the superiority of Sakha8, AUS 29639 in salt tolerance through accumulating suitable rates of proline and carbohydrates. AUS 29639 was more resistant to salt stress than Sakha8. We may use these results later in other physiological and genetical studies.
This research was carried out during 2014 - 2015 in Scientific Centre for Agricultural Researches. This research aims to determine the effect of some biological and genetic indicators on the success of Carob seedlings in nurseries by studying three kinds of grafting: Auto-grafting, Homo-grafting and Hetero-grafting. Rootstock aged one year and resulted by two chosen genetic types, namely, SnobarJablah and Alhafa were used. Scions, they were taken either from seedlings with age of one year resulted by these two types or from branches aged one year from the selected two types as well. Grafting was conducted by using Whip Graft way in spring. Auto-grafting has indicated the importance and the role of biological and genetic factors for grafts and their impact on rates of grafting success. Concerning rates of success, the results have shown that Auto-grafting surpassed Hetero-grafting with a significant reference for both of two genetic types, regardless if the used scion was young or old. In addition, Auto-grafting has shown surpass on other kinds of grafting, in terms of subsequent growth of scions. On the other hand, a variety in biological indicators values has been noticed between the two genetic studied types. In favour of SnobarJablahtype againstAlhafaʼs type. However, the differences of values were not significant for the most of conducted measures. As for the age of scions, the results have pointed out that values of Hetero-grafting with young scions surpassed values of Hetero-grafting with old scions in terms of the rate of grafting success and values of biological studied indicators.
