In this study the concentration of (Cu, Cr, Cd, Fe, Mn, Ni, Zn , Pb ,V &Co) in some sedimentary columns and pore-water extracted from the estuary of Al-Kabeer alshemali river was determined during four seasons .the concentrations of these metals were determined using atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS). The columns were cut into slices with 2cm of thickness ,the pore water at every slice was extracted using centrifugation (7000 r/min).the results showed that the concentration increased from surface(deep=0cm, rich of O2) up to the 4cm of deep ,then the concentration decreased in deeper slices (down of 4cm,deficiency of O2) and the concentration of Fe and Mn from high ranking ppm. The rest of the items were relatively lower ranking ppb, but Co, Cd and V were low. meat increased the concentration of all these elements in the spring and summer, compared with the values in the winter and autumn, due to increasing human activities on the one hand and the high temperature on the other hand, leading to increased activities of bacterial that leads to the decomposition of organic material that may increase the ratios of these elements in the pore water.

The objective of this article is describing the changes of the coastline shape during the time period extended between 1973-2014. the coastal zone is very special because it occur at the interface between the three major natural systems at the ear th surface atmosphere, ocean and land surface. Geomorphological factors operating in all three of these systems are responsible for shaping the coastal zone, and the interaction between the three different sets of processes makes the coastal zone an extremely dynamic one. At present, a wide range of tools and techniques are available to help us to study the evolution of coastline during the time intervals determined by the available data, and thus become our ability to predict future changes. improve our understanding of the geomorphological processes affect the coastal zone allow us to minimize their effects, and use this knowledge in the development of comprehensive coastal zone management planning.
This research focuses on determining elemental concentrations of copper and lead (Cu &pb) in the muscles and liver Boops boops kind of the estuary of the AL Kabeer Alshemaly River and the fishing port and the promenade using atomic absorption tech nique. The results showed a significant increase in the concentrations of lead during summer 2014 in each of the muscle tissue and the liver of the fish examined (28.28ppm& 4.48ppm, respectively) at the mouth of the estuary of the AL Kabeer Alshemaly River and the fishing port and the promenade (11.19ppm& 3.75ppm, respectively), and this could be due to the different nature of human activities and sources of pollution to this element between the two regions. The results showed a marked seasonal change in the concentration of copper within the liver tissue of fish studied, where the highest concentration in the fishing port and the promenade( 5630.02 ppm) in autumn 2014, the Supreme( 3402.27ppm) value in the AL Kabeer Alshemaly River the estuary of summer. While the results did not show the variable in concentrations of copper in muscle . Theconcentrations were comparable between the two stations somewhat, with the highest concentrations in the summer in Bouth the fishing port and the promenade 1497.70ppm) and(1107.91 ppm) the AL Kabeer Alshemaly River. Results indicate that the accumulation of the studied elements (Cu &pb) in the liver compared to muscle (and the reason is boiled physiological differences in the functions of each of the two members) and to the existence of a good correlation between the concentration in the muscle changes with the typical length of which points to increased accumulation of these elements in these fish with increased growth,Noting the high concentration of the studied elements in females more than those recorded in males.
Heavy metals determination was carried out in ٢٤ of vegetable crops, belong to three groups, i.e.: Leaf, Fruit and Tuber vegetable crops. Lead, Chromium, Cadmium and Mercury, were determined using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy provided with Graph ite furnace. Vegetable samples were collected from six sites along the irrigation water source for Barada and Ghouta for two seasons, ٩٥-٩٦ and ٩٦-٩٧, to evaluate the effect of water source (surface polluted water and ground water) on the heavy metals content of vegetables.
This study deals with the determination of total mercury concentration in the water taken from three sites on Al-Kabeer Al-Shemaly River ( near the industrial area and Al- Damat Lake, and 16 Tishreen Lake), also the effect of some physio-chemical p arameters including: DO, pH, T °C. of water in the three sites was studied. Results showed that the total mercury concentration was low in general, where the medium concentration in the three studied sites was 0.29 ppb and it was less than the permission level of total mercury in the surface water(> 10 ppb), the higher value of the medium concentration of total mercury(0.35, 0.31, 0.21)ppb was recorded in the Industrial Area, Damat Lake, then 16 Tishreen Lake, respectively. For the changes in the total concentration of mercury in the three studied sites during seasons of a year, was higher in Summer comparing with other seasons. The results showed positive correlation coefficient between the total mercury concentration and temperature, pH value, but it was negative with DO in Summer.
This study deals with identifying some heavy metals (Pb,Zn,Ni) concentration in the recycledsewage in Latakia Countryside which is resulting from three treatment plants distributed over (Hebbeit, Al-Harah, MarjMoairban),2011.This research uses the El ectro Thermal Atomization-Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (ETA-AAS) technique in determining of heavy metal elements mentioned above. This research shows a higher concentration of Zn-element (2.798 mg/L) in all treatment plants and in all seasons compared with the concentration of other elements, while Ni and Pb have recorded low concentrations (0.351, 0.243) mg/ℓ, respectively. The statistical study has demonstrated that there is a correlation varying from positive high to positive low, and sometimes to negative highs and lows, this gives clear indications for resources of pollution.
