In this study, a new poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) membrane electrode for La3+ ion based on paraldyhed phenyl hedrazon as an electroactive material was prepared.This electrode revealed good selectivity for La3+ over a wide variety of other metal ions. Effects of experimental parameters such as membrane composition, nature and the amount of plasticizer, the amount of additive on the potential response of La3+ electrode were investigated. The electrode exhibited a Nernstian slope of 20.0±1.0mV per decade of La3+ over a concentration range of 1×10-7 to 1×10-1M of La3+ in the pH range 3.8–8.0. The response time was about 30 s and the detection limit was 7×10-8 M. The electrode couldbe used for at least one month without a considerable divergence in potential. The proposed electrode was used for the determination of lanthanum in a standard solations andwas successfully applied as an indicator electrode for potentiometric titration of La3+ with EDTA.

A new polyvinylchloride membrane sensitive to Cd+2 ions basede on 1,3-diphenyl-5-P-nitrophenylformazan as ionophore has been prepared. This electrode shows a Nernestian response for cadmuim ions over a wide range ( 1.0 ×10-6 to 1. 0 ×10-1 M ) with the slope of 27.74 mv . decade-1 . the detiction limite is 7 × 10-7 M . It has a fast response time of 15 s and can be used for at least 4 mounth without any divergence in potential . the electrode can be used in the pH range from 4.0 to 9.0 . the proposed electrode shows avery good discriminating ability towards Cd+2 ion in presence of some alkali , alkaline earth , transition and heavy metal ions. It was successfully applied for the direct determination of Cd+2 in standard and real sample solutions
This paper outline a new, simple, selective and sensitive spectrophotometric procedure for the quantitative determination of iron. The bidentate ligand of 2- (1-Acetyl-2-oxopropyl)acrylonitrile has been synthesized ,and determined by elemental ana lysis and infrared spectroscopy. The compound reacts with Fe(III) to form a colored complex with an absorption maxima at 400nm and 490nm. The effect of pH, amount of reagent, time, temperature and the interference of many ions on the Fe (III) determination was also estimated. Beer's law is obeyed for iron concentration in the range (0.23- 4.48μg/ ml) for spectrophotometric method and (0.56-8.4) for extraction spectrophotometric method. The molar absorptivity was in the rang 2.70x104-3.46 x 104 L.mol-1cm-1. Sandall's sensitivity was found to be 1.61 x 10 -3 – 2.07 x 10-3 μg . cm-2. The RSDs for both spectrophotometric and extraction spectrophotometric methods were below 3%. The analytical error SD/√n was within 0.021. The technique has been applied to the determination of iron in alloys and in pharmaceutical preparations.

This study aims to compare the results of two methods ,used to determinate arsenic in mixed and aqueous media: proposed potintiometrc titration and referenced atomic absorption and then applied the proposed method to some environmental samples. The atomic absorption, which is often used to determine the arsenic in many applications, has been chosen as comparison guide, where the reaction take place between sodium borate (NaBH4) and arsenic Acid H3AsO3 to produce the effective compound AsH3 used to determine arsenic by this instrument . Different statistical treatments were used to evaluate the result of the determination of arsenic in desired media. The result of this investigation suggest that , it’s highly recommend to use the proposed method for its high efficiency, ease, simplicity and low cost comparing with atomic absorption technique that requires expensive equipment
The study showed that We can Processing of a new pleasant nourishing drink from carob seeds, by roasting the fresh seeds of Carob at 200C° for 2 min . The results of sensory tests and test taste according to international quality standards ISO8588 7: 2005 at samples drink prepared from seeds roasted at different temperatures and times showed that the sample prepared at 200C° for 2min is the best, also the results of chemical analysis for powder of roasting carob seeds at 200C° for 2 min that used in prepare the drink showed that it has a high nutritional value because of its high content of protein 19.8% and fiber 12.9%, low content of fat to 1.6% and sugar to 1.5%, and completely free of caffeine, therefore, it suitable as a healthy and nourishing drink for patients with heart and diabetes disease.
