the leg ulcer is the common disease, it distributes widely in the world. it affect both genders, and any age. it strongly related to the vascular diseases, its most complications are infection and contact dermatitis. the management of the ulcer is de pended to the etiology, and regeneration ulcer using different drugs, the surgical procedure is rarely taking place in managements ulcers. the duration of the study was february 2010 and june 2011. the percentage of leg ulcer among patients of dermatology clinic was 0.32%, and 5% of vascular surgery patients. the main age was 48 years. the most common causes of leg ulcer was chronic venous insufficiency (34%), and arterial (22%). the majority of the complications are contact dermatitis and secondary infection. therapeutic study had included drugs helping regeneration (32 ulcer), the best result was using Mebo and Silver Leaf, the percentage of healing was approximately 99% along 8 weeks.
The diabetic foot ulcers considers a serious complications that related to diabetes, ulcers required medical and nursing care, that started with determine the degree of ulcer and applying Dressing which is from responsibility of nurses. There are man y kinds of dressing for grade 1&2 diabetic foot ulcers such as dry and honey dressing, aim of the study: Assessment the effect of applying the dry and honey dressings on the healing of grade (1&2) diabetic foot ulcers. Material and Methods: The study conducted in the Diabetes Mellitus Center in Lattakia city. A convenient sample of 40 adult diabetic patients whose meet the sample selection criteria were chosen. The sample divided randomly to two equal groups either the first group who subjected to dry dressing technique, or to the second group who subjected to honey dressing technique. Dressing changed for six weeks. Results: At the end of the study: (45%) of patients had complete ulcer healing, (35%) had partial healing and (20%) had no ulcer wound healing in the dry dressing group. Whereas (85%) of patients had complete ulcer healing and (15%) had partial healing. Conclusions: Honey dressing had statistical significant effects on the healing of grade (1&2) diabetic foot ulcers.
This study aimed to know the relation between cagA positive Helicobacter pylori (HP) strains and diseases such as gastric and duodenal ulcers and gastric adenocarcinoma. The study included 61 dyspeptic patients from gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy de partment patients in Al-Assad university hospital in Lattakia. During upper (GI) endoscopy, gastric biopsy specimens were obtained for Clo-test and histologic examination. Blood was obtained from Clo-test positive patients for serologic tests of HP and cagA. After upper (GI) endoscopy and histologic examination, patients were divided into 4 groups: chronic gastritis (28 patients), gastric ulcer (5 patients), duodenal ulcer (17 patients) and gastric adenocarcinoma (11 patients). CagA antibodies were positive in 68.85% of patients. The difference in the proportion of CagA antibody positive between the four groups was highly significant (P= 0.006). The highest positive proportion was in gastric adenocarcinoma (90.91%) then duodenal ulcer (88.24%) then gastric ulcer (80%), while the lowest positive proportion was in chronic gastritis (46.43%). There was no difference in HP antibody levels between the four groups (P = 0.90) but these levels were significantly higher in cagA+ patients compared to cagA- (P= 0.05). This study found a positive relation between cagA+ and diseases such as peptic ulcer and gastric adenocarcinoma in Syria .
