This paper describes the submission by NUIG-DSI to the GEM benchmark 2021. We participate in the modeling shared task where we submit outputs on four datasets for data-to-text generation, namely, DART, WebNLG (en), E2E and CommonGen. We follow an app roach similar to the one described in the GEM benchmark paper where we use the pre-trained T5-base model for our submission. We train this model on additional monolingual data where we experiment with different masking strategies specifically focused on masking entities, predicates and concepts as well as a random masking strategy for pre-training. In our results we find that random masking performs the best in terms of automatic evaluation metrics, though the results are not statistically significantly different compared to other masking strategies.
Paper mill wastewater is an environment contaminated wastewater , and refractory to biological treatment due to its high value of COD and low value of BOD_5. This research studies the treatment of mentioned wastewater using Fenton Oxidation Fe^(2+)/ H_2 O_2. The effect of some key elements on this oxidation such as H_2 O_2 and Fe^(2+) doses, dosage strategy of H_2 O_2, with a pH value near 3 was studied. Fenton method showed high efficiency of COD removal reached 78.5 % with a total hydrogen peroxide dose of 2.2g/l applied in four doses and intervals of 15min. Experiments also proved that intermittent dosage - four doses - are better than giving whole dose in one stroke. Results appeared evidently in two points: the efficiency of COD removal and the ratio of BOD5/COD; since we reached through intermittent dosages a value of BOD5/COD near 0.32 , which eventually allows effluent from Fenton oxidation process to be treated biologically.
The Arabs have introduced an important contribution in the history of communication, usually ignored, and that was the development of paper in the eighth century A.D. on the hands of the Abbasid's dynasty which ruled Baghdad. By applying the histo rical communication theory, one can see paper’s great impact, not only on Arabs and Moslems, but Europe and the rest of the World in general.
The governorate of Tartous, which lies on the east Mediterranean coast in the west of Syria, is considered an important endemic area for human cutaneous leishmaniasis (HCL). Between June and October 2004, 988 sand flies were collected, from 13 vil lages distributed in five principle areas of the governorate, by using sticky paper (SP) and CDC traps. The 20/988 sand flies caught, belonged to the genus Sergentomyia, whereas 968/988 sand flies were Phlebotomus species. The Sergentomyia caught were S. dentata (2%). The identified Phlebotomus were P. papatasi (49.8%), P. syriacus (35.5%), P. tobbi (10.8%), P. neglectus (0.6%), P. jacusieli (0.7%), and P. simici (0.5%). The later two species are recorded for the first time in Tartous governorate.
This study deals with writing paper since the early beginning until present time; the first symbolic writing attempts depicted on cave walls, stones, clay tablets, papyrus, bones, animal skin, wood, textiles (like silk) up to the modern paper indu stry that was first invented in China, and then spreading all over Europe by the Arabs after unfolding its manufacturing secrets. The research also explores the development of paper industry throughout history and the various materials, especially wood, used in processing it, and covers the names the various types, employments of paper, and finally the importance of building paper factories to meet the various social and economic demands.
