Bladder cancer is the most common malignancy of the urinary
tract, and has the fastest rate of recurrence which gives it high
prevalence of tumors all over the world. Early diagnosis is very
important for treatment efficacy, prevent tumor progress
ion and
prolong survival period, so many urinary markers have been
studied but early diagnosis of carcinoma of bladder remains a
challenge. Survivin is a member of the inhibitor of apoptosis
protein family (IAPs), whose irregular expression is associated with
tumor cell proliferation, progression, angiogenesis, therapeutic
resistance, and poor prognosis.
Worldwide, iron deficiency anemia (IDA) is the most common nutritional deficiency,
and its management remains a challenge in many cases.(OIT)Oral iron therapy, in appropriate
doses and for a sufficient duration, is an effective first-line strategy
for most patients.
But some patients do not experiencean optimal response to(OIT).The need is still
current and clinically relevant for predictors of response to OIT. Hepcidin-25, a major regulator
of iron metabolism, may be use as a reliable guide for the use of iron and be one of
them.112 patientswith IDA were enrolled in this follow up clinical trial, Selected from two
university, hospitals in Damascus between JUNE2015 and JUNE2016. For patients who
met the inclusion criteria, Baseline CBC, iron studies, and serum hepcidin-25 were measured,
and then they received a 14-day course of oral iron (ferrous gluconate 325mg/ 3 times
daily). Patients who achieved <1g/dl increase in Hb in 14 days were categorized as “nonresponders”.
Screening hepcidin levels were (40.18± 86.35) versus (6.37±10.37)(p=
0.041(innonresponders versus responders to oral iron trial. HepcidinCutoff of >14.3 ng/ml,
showed sensitivity of 40%,specificity of 90.2%, andpositive predictive value of 60% andnegative
predictive value of 80% for predicting nonresponsiveness to oral iron.We conclude
that serum hepcidin25predicts poorly nonresponsivenesstooral iron therapy in IDA
patients, but it is superior to ferritin and TSAT for this purpose.
This paper aimed to study The suitability of (Z-score) index to measure banking
financial stability of Syrian Private Traditional Banks, To achieve this purpose, the
researcher built a model during the period from Q1-2010 to Q4-2014,using Cross-Sec
tional
series of Banking financial performance variables and analyzing it using Panel Data
Analyze.
The main results are:
The suitability of (Z-Score) index to measure financial stability of Syrian
Traditional Private Banks.
The financial stability of all Syrian Traditional Private Banks.
The significant positive relation between Book to market value(BM), Capital
Adequacy (Adec) and financial stability index (Z-Score).
The significant negative relation between Quality of loan portfolio (QUAL),
Deposit employment (NET/DEP) and financial stability index (Z-Score).
The absence of significant relation between(Z-Score) and banking performance
ratios: Cover ratio(COV), bank's Liquidity (LIQ), and profitability measured by the ratio of
Adjusted Return on Equity (Roe$).
This study was conducted on domestic pigeons and back yard
chickens populations in many regions of Syrian Arab Republic
using techniques of isolation on chicken embryo and cell culture.
The birds were suspected to be infected by pox virus through
clinical symptoms by the presence of lesions in warts and scars
on Different areas of the face as the comb, wattle, the corner of
the mouth and eyelids and other areas of body and we notice
presence of Diphtheric lesions on the mucous membrane of the
oral cavity in many cases.
