:Bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) belong to the family of transforming growth factors-β (TGF-β) and play an essential role in the cellular proliferation and differentiation. Trails that used immunohistochemistry have shown that Ki67 is existed in all normal cells which is in proliferating phase and absent in differentiated cells in resting phase. Aim : to investigate the effects of rhBMP-2 on the proliferative activity of rabbits bone tissue using Ki67 staining.

Epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) process represents an essential stage for tissue healing، it is also considered as a preface for tumour proliferation and invasion. The current study aimed to investigate the effects of rhBMP-2 protein on two essential biomarkers for this process : β-catenin and E-cadherin.
This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between estrogen depletion ,calcium-deficiency,and alveolar bone loss. Alveolar bone loss was evaluated by radiographic and visual inspection of rabbits with experimental lack of estrogen an d calcium. Twenty female local rabbits (4 months old) were divided into four groups :group a -ovariectomized and given a standard solid diet. Group b-ovariectomized and given a calcium – deficient diet Group c-sham-ovariectomized and given a standard solid diet. And group d-sham-ovariectomized and given a calcium-deficient diet after 8 weeks, the rabbits were sacrificed . The maxillae, mandibles, femurs, and tibias were removed carfully and fixed in 10% neutral buffered formalin. The bone mineral density of each bone and the alveolar bone loss were measured.the bone meniral densities of the maxillae, mandibles, femurs and tabias in group (c) were significantly higher than those in groups (b)and (d),but not higher than those in group a.however there were no significant differences between any of the groups with regard to alveolar bone loss from the cemento-enamel junction to the molar bone crest.
Aim of the Study: Investigating the effect of adding rh-BMP2 on the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor VEGF.
Recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2 (rhBMP-2 ) is effectively to regenerate defects of the maxillary and mandible bones. Such defects are sometimes caused by resection of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) yet the biologic effects of rhBMP-2 on this malignancy and its histological relations and the ability of invasion and metastasis are not fully clear. Aim of the study : this study aimed to investigate the effects of rhBMP2 on E-cadherin expression , which plays a pivotal role in the cellular adhesion through the adherent junctions.
Background and Objective : Bone morphogenic protine-2 (BMP-2) plays an essential role in mesenchymal cells differentiation into osteoblasts، through many intracellular pathways which crosses with tumoral pathways . Oral squamous cell carcinoma is a n invasive epithelial neoplasm، counts more than 90% of head and neck malignancies. It is classified into three degrees according to the epithelial cells differentiation. The study aimed to investigate the changes in BMP-2 expression according to the histological degrees of the tumor. Materials and methods : In the present study، BMP-2 expression was compared immunohistochemically among oral squamous cell carcinoma in 27 cases (19 male+8 female) ranging between (22-74) years، mean age of (48) years. Patients have been divided into 3 groups (each contain 9 case) according to the histological grade. Results : By analyzing the statistical results, No significant correlation between BMP-2 expression and the histological grad was observed. The severity of expression was not affected by the tumour degree. Changes in membranous localization and intense cytoplasmic staining were also not observed. Conclusion : according to this study BMP-2 does not represent a prognostic marker for the histological grade of oral squamous cell carcinoma.
