This research aims to introduce the essence and types of the operational risks and good practices to manage and control these risks in the Commercial Bank of Syria in accordance with the Monetary and Credit Council resolutions. Since the correct approach to the management of operational risks chosen by any bank depends on a variety of factors including the size enters the bank and its evolution and the nature of its activity and the level of complexity. The importance of research by highlighting the most important methods and indicators used to measure and calculate the operational risk capital requirement to meet those risks, and see how Commercial Bank of Syria's commitment to implement decisions of the Monetary and Credit Council for the management of operational risks. The research aims to study the relationship between the health situation variables and a group of economic variables in Syria during the Period (2000-2011), as the research aims to create a mathematical model that illustrates the relationship betwe en them using Canonical Analysis. The most significant results as follows: - There is a very strong and statistically significant correlation between health level variables and economic variables. - The result of canonical analysis shows that national income per capita is the most influential variable in health-level variables, followed by total investments, and hence average per capita gross domestic product, and then the revised rate of activity. - The result of canonical analysis shows that the average population per bed and crude mortality rate have a strong impact on economic variables. - We have come to build a mathematical model that represents the relationship between health level variables and economic variables.
The commercial bank of Syria produces various banking services, and its branches trying to gratify its clients, and attracting new clients. It is trying to achieve its clients every time, and to inquire this ideal, it confronts many problems, one of these is overcome jam, that we can find in every branches, and it happened when the serves had not organized. So the serves was not be good, and the client was not be gratifying. In this research, we want to study the kind of expected rate arrival, so we watched rate arrival for the year 2010 in the first branch of the commercial bank of Syria in lattakia city. We expected a relationship between the rate arrival and the time, and find good work planet to organization the work by using queuing theory, we find number of certain servers that to be from 14 to 18 certain to produce service in the shorter time.
The research presents a study and evaluation of the current situation of the Commercial Bank of Syria and the mechanism for implementation of its operations and goals to be achieved, through Balanced Scorecard also provides an explanation of the c oncept of Balanced Scorecard in terms of its dependence on four aspects are (financial - customers - internal processes- learning and growth). The study reached the following conclusions: that the bank has succeeded in achieving its objectives in profitability and security of banking, but it did not succeed in satisfying customers, in achieving the goal of improving internal operations, and it did not succeed in achieving learning and innovation in procedures and staff . The research was presented a set of recommendations including: Adoption of the concept of Balanced Scorecard in performance measurement and deepen his understanding of the culture of the bank, the need to focus attention to customers and their proposals and to achieve satisfaction, the need for attention to improving the quality of banking operations and provide services without errors as soon as possible, and to focus attention to human resources at the bank and enable work to increase the degree of employee satisfaction and improve productivity.
This study aims to state the extent of the contribution of internal audit in the reduction of operational risks faced by Islamic banks in Syria in order to protect and continuity. To achieve this goal, the researcher depends on the style of the quest ionnaire that has been distributed to workers in the management of banking operations and management of the internal audit in Islamic banks operating in Syria, that are 3 banks, where the total number of workers in both the Department of Banking Operations and Internal Audit Department is 70 employees, and has been distributed to 70, and collected 60 valid questionnaires for the study: 45 questionnaires relate to the Department of Banking Operations, 15 to the Internal Audit Department. The findings of this study showed that the Internal audit contribution in reduction of operational risks faced by Islamic banks in Syria, from the standpoint of the two specimens, the most important study, as recommended by the necessity of activating the role of the Internal Audit Department in the process of operational risk management in Islamic banks to ensure its continuity.
The quality of credit portfolio depends heavily on the integrity of the decision to grant credit, which is in turn linked to a set of policies, procedures and standards that will reduce the faltering customers.The focus in this study was on the ris k department in the Syrian Real Estate Bank and the role that the department played to reduce the nonperforming loans through the policies and procedures that it carried out and the commitment to Monetary and Credit Council decisions related to non-performing loans. The results showed that the department has an effective role in reducing non-performing loans, and it currently faces set of difficulties inits work in.The most important recommendations that have been reached are the need to launch new products with special conditions adjusting with the current conditions, and focusing on the restructuring of the deposits and the importance of relying on the economic legal advisory team to reach more accurate credit decision.
