This research deals with the minimum cost design of reinforced concrete T-beams according to the Syrian code. The aim is to minimize the total cost of the beam while respecting all the design requirements. Traditional method depend on a set of suppositions, in the opposite this methodology aim to reach the optimal solution among a set of constraints with respect the objective function. So that, using this methodology leading to the minimum cost reinforced section design. This research is shown that the problem can be formulated in a nonlinear mathematical programming format. Several cases are used to explain the applicability of the formulation in accordance with the current Syrian code. Traditional method of Syrian code has been used to design sections in this paper, utilizing the nonlinear programming method provided by Lingo14.0 software from LINDO Systems Inc. The comparison of the results shows that important saving can be obtained at the total cost of a reinforced concrete T-beams design.

As a result of the scientific and technological progress in different types of industry, one of which, Construction industry, new materials and methods of executing and designing buildings are utilized in general. Therefore, finding the best and e conomical solution is one of the main issues addressed by the researchers in recent years. - Economical design i.e. researching best and most suitable solutions for specified load conditions and environment requires a good knowledge in calculation and designing methods, exacting and constructing methods and the types and prices of materials available locally. -This paper discusses the economical design of the reinforced concrete components specified for the basic forces(M,Q,N). Consequently, it is the economical design of the structural framework of the reinforced concrete buildings according to the main changes of materials price for constructing these structures at specific local conditions.

The research Problem lies in the ambiguity of the association relationship between the geometrical shapes and the energy surrounding them and impacting the living things in the architectural and urban space and understanding the architectural design principles that governing the design of geometrical shapes in public and especially architectural buildings commensurate with this relationship.
Cold formed steel (CFS) has many advantages over other construction materials. CFS members are lightweight. They weigh up to 30-35% less than their wood counterparts.. This makes CFS members economical and the same time very easy to erect and inst all. They may be shaped (cold-bent) to nearly any open cross section. This allows for the use of optimization technique’s to find optimal shapes for the members’ cross sections. The research aims to show the genetic algorithm's ability in determining the optimum dimensions cold formed C section. To do so, the optimum design mathematical formulation was formulated by adding the manufacturing constraints that reflect the section folding operations in addition the geometrical and structural constraints. The research found that the genetic algorithm is effective tool in finding the best solution to this issue, as it showed its ability to deal with asymmetric section through reaching solutions conform to the basic principles of mechanics of material. The algorithm is adjustable, so that it can implement the design restrictions which are compatible with any codes or any manufacturing requirements imposed by modulation techniques.
