In the context of this work, it was determine the best region to invest, It is in the north of the valley Zkarh around the wells 7, 8 and 13, where the thickness of the clay level is large and thickness of sedimentary cover overlying is few. The r esults of the chemical analysis of clay samples in the studied area, the abundance of oxides of silicon and aluminum oxides in the mineral composition of clays Which refers to the composition of argillaceous minerals component mainly of Ilites in the most area and of montmorillonite in the center of the area near the wells 15, 16 and 17 sites. The clay was deposited in the study region from erosion of varying composition rocks, as weathering of Lower Eocene chalky rocks containing a cherty levels and weathering Cretaceous and Paleogene carbonate deployed in the north of the Zkarh valley. The chemical composition of clay of Zkarh Valley is typical for use in the ceramic industry.
Atriplex is one of good adaptive plants to the Characteristics of drought fragile environments, and it has high ability to tolerate many ecological stresses such as drought and high temperature and salinity. The plant is characterized by its huge economic values because it has many uses, it’s one of the high digestibility grazing plants and it is grazing by camels, goats and sheep all the year, some of them have medicinally uses in repairing the increasing of blood sugar, the freshness parts of some species use in preparing salads, even they have cook using, and leaves usually have a salty taste even the plant grow in none salinity soils. The morphological variety of four species of Atriplex were studying, two of them are introduced (A. canescens, A. polycarpa) and two have natural spreading in Syria (A. leucoclada, A. halimus). The results indicated that biological type, life duration, plants color, fruit bracts shape and fused of fruit bracts, plant smell, seed color, leaves shape and phyllotaxy are considered the most morphological characters which show important morphological differences among the studying species. These can be considered among classification standards to help distinguish the studying species of Atriplex genus under their natural spreading land, which consider the natural habitat for this important plant. Based on studied morphological characters, an identification key for the studying species is provided.
Five species of Poaceae were collected: Briza minor L., Briza maxima L., Setaria viridis (L.) P.B., Setaria verticillata (L.) P.B., and Eleusine indica Gaertn., Fruct. Sem. Pl. which recorded for the first time in the Flora of Syria. Peels from a daxial and abaxial leaf surfaces were prepared and stained with the safranin . The results showed a clearly differences in these sides: existence or absence of the epidermal elements, their shapes and their measurements among the species from one side, and between adaxial and abaxial leaf surface for the same one from the other side.
This study was performed the existence of the species Datura innoxia Mill. in the Syrian flora. Also the morphological study results showed that the plant is a gray greenish herb, its stem is erect. Leaves are simple, alternated, oval, its angle is turbinated to the out. The root is sphenoid. The flower is regular. The fruit is capsule, and the seed is splay, have an excrescence. The palynological study showed that the pollens are ellipticity, triad of germination lines. Whereas, the anatomical study showed that the form of carrier packing take quadric side type.
This study was conducted during the period from 10/9/2016 to 9/9/2017 in Demsarkho orchards area (Lattakia) on the west coast of Syrian Arab Republic. The study aimed to identificate "Syrphidae" in this area. Samples were collected by yellow dishes in weekly rate. A total of 341 Syrphid flies were collected and they belong to 15 species form 10 genera. The most abundant species was Sphaerophoria scripta (relative abundance 33.43%), followed by Episyrphus balteatus (20.53%), then Melanostoma mellinum (14.66%).
