This research includes a detailed study of the daily and monthly changes to the intensity of total solar radiation in the city of Homs (34.75N °, 36.7 E °), and a direct measurement of the intensity. The study shows that intensity increases to max imum values in summer 1100w / m2, and drops to lesser values in winter 600 w / m2. The difference between the measured values in summer and winter is due to: a change in the inclination of the sun, and implicitly solar azimuth z. This angle is at its greatest in winter and the optical path is at the maximum. Thus, the processes of scattering and absorption increase. In summer, the inclination angle is at its lowest and the optical path is at the minimum. Thus, the absorption and scattering of solar radiation are at the minimum.
This research presents an experimental study about the effect of steel fibers on the main variables of stress- strain curve for high strength concrete on simple compression, which are: shape of stress- strain curve, ductility factor, energy absorpt ion capacity. For this purpose, series of cylinders concrete specimens were prepared in compressive strength (70 MPa). the steel fiber with aspect ratio of L/D =70 were added at the volume fractions of (0-1-1.5-2)%. The cylinders were tested under a monotonic loading at compression, and as a result of the tests, the total curve of stress- strain was obtained. The experimental results of research showed a positive effect of steel fibers on the behavior of high strength concrete, this effect increased with increasing volume fraction of steel fibers. It can be seen from stress-strain curve, whereas the slope of the ascending branch is not much affected. The descending branch of the stress- strain curve decreases by the increase in the fiber volume fraction. This means the ductility and toughness improve with the addition of steel fibers and as a result the behavior of high strength concrete has gone far away from being brittle as it is used to be.
In this work ,we try to predict the disadvantages will be caused by active suspension system on indirect tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) which rely on analysis either rotational speed signals of wheels or vehicle body vibration signals. Ac tive suspension systems that aim to increase passengers comfort apply some additional vertical loads on vehicle's wheels which may cause difference in its rotational speed due to the resulting load difference. also it may change the vibration level of the vehicle during driving so the usage of vibration signals for monitoring tire pressure could be difficult or impossible . in both cases the performance of TPMS may be changed. This study showed that TPMS which rely on rotational speed signals will still able to work and the effects of active suspension system will confine on the quality of the resulting warnings while the TPMS which depend on vibration analysis will conk if the analyzed vibration data was the vertical acceleration signals of wheels .

This study aims to define bird species that use artificial lakes in Syrian coast, and evaluate their population size for management and protection of wildlife. Four different sites were chosen in Syrian coast, which considered the most important ar tificial lakes. Point counts method was used in bird survey in November, December, January, February, March in 2011. 15 waterbird species were recorded belonging to 9 family and 6 order. Wading birds were the main component of waterbird (60% of all species) in Syrian coast. Populations size was 1 to 300 individuals. Diversity of birds and their Populations were greatest in sites which are rich in food ( especially fish). The results showed a difference in composition of bird communities in studied sites.
