مازالت الحمى الرثوية و الإصابات القلبية الرثوية شائعة في بلدان العالم النامية و من ضمنها سورية، فلذلك لا بد من معرفة واقع هذه المشكلة لدينا و المقارنة مع واقعها في البلدان الأخرى إضافة إلى بيان دور إيكو القلب في كشف الإصابات القلبية حتى تحت السريرية. تمت الدراسة في مشفى الأطفال الجامعي بدمشق، و ذلك بشكل راجع في الفترة ما بين الشهر الأول من عام 1994 و الشهر الأخير من عام 2003 .تناولت 285 طفلاً مصابين بالحمى الرثوية حيث تم التشخيص اعتماداً على معايير جونس و ذلك بعد إجراء الصورة الشعاعية و التخطيط و التحاليل المخبرية و إيكو القلب لكل طفل.
Reumatic fever and rheumatic heart desease are still common and major public health problems in developing countries, include Syria. For their the study aims to present state and characteristics of RF in the last 10 year. and to determine the rule of ECHO / Doppler in the diagnosis of subclinc RHD. 285 patients with RF who were hospitalized at Damascus University Children’s Hospital between Jan .1994 and Dec.2003 were reviewed retrospectively.
