This paper presents a study on the application of vibration signals to detect the presence of defects in gears. Several gear failure prediction methods were investigated and applied to experimental data from a test gear apparatus. The primary objective was to provide a baseline understanding of the prediction methods and to evaluate their diagnostic capabilities. The methods investigated use the signal average in both the time and frequency domain to detect gear failure.

There are many ideas that come to the mind and many questions that keep coming to the mind when it comes to analyzing the phenomenon of using the methods and tools to help in the planning and making appropriate decisions. In this research we tried to display the importance of statistics and the most important methods depending on the number of variables used in this analysis: descriptive statistical indicators in case we had one variable, indexes in case we had two variables, and factor analysis and analysis of variance in case we had several variables. These methods were applied to production of irrigated wheat crop, both types soft and hard, during the period 2000 - 2010 and the factors affecting its production, such as: the cultivated area, yield, fertilizers, water, the average cost and the average price. Then the data were analyzed using the Statistical package SPSS and program Excel. After that, they summarized in two main factors that justify together (86.116%) of the overall variance. The first factor was related to the land and everything related to it through a set of variables, which are: the cultivated area and the need to fertilizers and water., The second factor was the importance of the selling price of the crop per kilogram.
Participation in inter-laboratory comparison programs is an important means of laboratory quality control and assessing laboratory performance, and these programs can be used by customers or regulatory bodies for the selection of qualified laborato ries. This research describes how to use inter-comparison tests and how to statistically analyse the test results. This research has a practical study of assessing laboratories performance in laboratories of the Syrian textile firms by distributing samples simultaneously to participating laboratories for testing. After collecting test results, the researcher used scientific methods to handle data to identify the weak points in laboratories performance and provide them the Feedback and technical advice to Assistance the lab to defining the measurement problems and evaluating of test methods and instrumentation , and could introduce some suggestions and recommendations to overcome.
The main objective of this article is to study the influence of static and dynamic behavior on the occurrence of contact fatigue on spur gear tooth. For this end, a dynamic model of geared transmission in one degree of freedom, with Crossland crite rion, are used. The motion equation is analyzed step par step in the time in order to determine the dynamic load in all contact points on teeth profile. In this way, the time-varying dynamic loads on tooth flanks are determined and the subsurface stress components can be derived from the classic Hertzian theory.
Term weighting schemes are widely used in Natural Language Processing and Information Retrieval. In particular, term weighting is the basis for keyword extraction. However, there are relatively few evaluation studies that shed light about the strengt hs and shortcomings of each weighting scheme. In fact, in most cases researchers and practitioners resort to the well-known tf-idf as default, despite the existence of other suitable alternatives, including graph-based models. In this paper, we perform an exhaustive and large-scale empirical comparison of both statistical and graph-based term weighting methods in the context of keyword extraction. Our analysis reveals some interesting findings such as the advantages of the less-known lexical specificity with respect to tf-idf, or the qualitative differences between statistical and graph-based methods. Finally, based on our findings we discuss and devise some suggestions for practitioners. Source code to reproduce our experimental results, including a keyword extraction library, are available in the following repository: https://github.com/asahi417/kex
In this study, drought in the eastern region of Syria (Hasake, Rakka, DerAzzor, Bokmal & Kameshli) has been investigated using SPI, NDVI indices. We used a set of data containing precipitation data for period from 1975 to 2010 to calculate Standardized Precipitation Index SPI, and MODIS time series images in April for period from 2000 to 2010 to calculate the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index NDVI.
