The research presents a field study on the posts in the design of residential buildings in the city of Latakia in order to check the impact of user participation on the quality of the residential building designed by measuring the relationship between the degree of user participation and the amount of satisfaction from their homes. The research found that the user has the participation of a major role in raising the quality of the design of the apartment building in the city of Latakia in line with available resources.
Because of the increasing of the scientific resources locally as well as internationally. and the importance of the local urban heritage as one of the resources. affecting the international urban and architectural concepts; this research deals with a group of local urban and architectural concepts, which have an important role in the development of the international architecture in Arabic countries. This study aims to evaluate the faculty members’ satisfaction’s (270 faculty members) on the campus climate at academic and applied universities in Jordan as perceived by faculty members. Also, it aims to investigate the effect of gender, academic rank, and experience factors in evaluating campus climate. By using an arithmetic mean, standard deviation, ANOVA, and t-test to investigate the indication of the study sample response, the study concludes that evaluation of campus climate at academic and applied universities as perceived by faculty members is, in general, medium. Faculty members were more satisfied in applied campus climate than academic climate. Based on the t-test analysis, differences in campus climate were found for academic rank, experience in higher education. But there were no differences for gender. Finally implications for practice are provided for higher education institutions to improve campus climate.
This research work tackles the strange contradiction between the political history and the literary history of the Ottoman period. In the first history, there is a general agreement about its end at the finish of the First World War. In the second , it is commonly held that is end is with the Napolyonic campaign on Egypt in 179g, but some literary historians did not agree; despite this they used the common belief consequently, this work notes that this problem led to two dangerous things: first, the misunderstanding and the underestimation of the Ottoman literature in its important objective and artistic values. After pointing to this problem, the work tries to trace the continued Ottoman elements in the literature of the Renaissance period. It finds out also that this period is so active with the Ottoman reign more than any other period. This in its turn led to the conclusion that the movement of the late Arab literature into modern Arab literature was gradual. Accordingly, this research work considers the First World War as the end of the Arab literature during the Ottoman period.
With the increasing trend towards the adoption of the modern data of building technology in architecture represented by the so-called smart buildings in an exaggerated and sometimes concise manner governed by the reality of the architectural state of the target, the question arises between the extent of the inevitability of the application of these data and their long-term feasibility? And the extent of the realistic consensus dimension for its actual adoption and the move towards a smart architectural future with its inputs and outputs? Therefore, the research aims to highlight the intelligent buildings concept and direction to reach a qualitative understanding of the need to adopt them as a future direction for our local economy in an integrated manner can be directed and formulated in proportion to the possibility of maintaining an architectural safety distance through which can ensure positive change in the direction of the future.
