Prevalence of Hepatitis B and C infections was assessed among individuals undergoing Pre-marital Tests in Pre-marital Clinic & Laboratory in Homs city – Syria. Enzyme immunoassay technique was used for detection of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBs-Ag) and antibodies to hepatitis C virus (Anti-HCV). Among 20290 subjects, 288 (1.4%) were positive for HBs-Ag, and 24 (0.12%) were positive for Anti-HCV. Prevalence of Hepatitis B and C was more common in male subjects (84.4% for Hepatitis B and 75% for Hepatitis C) in comparison to female (15.6% for Hepatitis B and 25% for Hepatitis C).

Several studies and reports have indicated the prevalence of hepatitis D virus infection in many parts of the world at different rates , Ranging from areas of epidemiological and areas with a low prevalence of it. Till now there is no study in Syr ia shows us the prevalence of viruse Delta in chronic hepatitis B patients . The aim of our study was to determine the current prevalence of hepatitis D in chronic hepatitis B patients . And to take appropriate measures in dealing with these patients due to the increased risk of liver disease in the event of injury by it . 77 patients with chronic hepatitis B certainly proved with PCR analysis 25 women and 52 men visiting the center of hepatitis in Latakia were tested for antibody to hepatitis D virus (anti-HDV) by ELISA test . The results indicate a positive antibody in three patients (women and 2 men) and the prevalence was 3.8% , which point to a moderate prevalence of hepatitis D comparing with neighboring countries.
Aim: Hepatitis B is a dangerous infection disease which can transmit occupational through dental practice. This study was planned to evaluate the knowledge regarding hepatitis B infection among dentists in Lattakia city. Materials and methods: an Hep atitis B questionnaire was prepeared, includes information about Hepatitis B infected, transmission, prevention and vaccination. The questionnaire was distributed randomaly through dentists, Data were collected and statistical analysis were conducted. Results: the response rate was (63%), and the dentists level of education regarding hepatitis B was only (57%). On the other hand the specialist dentists level was better than non-specialist dentists (P<0,05). Whereas the male and female level of education was the same (P>0,05). Finally (70%) of responders dentists have completed the hepatitis B vaccination. Conclusion: under the conditions of this study, the dentists level education regarding hepatitis B infection is low, so there is a need to promote about hepatitis B among dentists. HBV immunization should be made mandatory for health care workers.
Hepatitis C is affected by human behaviors especially drugs , diets ,activities smoking , sexy behaviors and alcohol , so it is very important to change health behaviors by patient to control of disease and avoid complications . Objective : to ass ess the effects of health behaviors on liver function among hepatitis C patients .Setting :The study was carried out in the Chronic Liver Hepatitis Center in Alwatany hospitalization in Lattakia province.Subjects::Thesample comprised 40 patients chosen randomly from the two genders who have hepatitis C out in the chronic liver hepatitis center in Alwatany hospitalization in Lattakia province during the research time. Tool :Data were collected using the following tools:Tool I Questionnaire: It was developed by the researcher and include items related to: demographic patients data , clinical data , questions about ( patients , information of disease , risk factors, healthy behaviors : (diet – treatment regimens – activities and habits)) Tool II : Liver function assessment sheet by using Child Pugh scale.Tool III :Patientcompliance check list which include questions about complianceGuidenceProshor.guide line has been developed by the researcherThe patients participated in 3 sessions .Each session (45minutes).Results: liver function were advanced of patient at the experimental group which applied the guide line more than patient at the control group because of Appling guide line .Recommendations : Chronic Liver Hepatitis Centers have been containing proshorsshow the impact of these health behaviors on the liver work and performing their functions as normal.

Dental caries is considered as one of the most common chronic diseases. The study of prevalence and severity of dental caries conducted in a specific geographic area contributes in constructing necessary plans for treatment and prevention. Aims of this study are to determine the prevalence and severity of early-childhood caries and to define risk factors associated with ECC among Lattakia/ Syrian preschool children. The sample comprised 909 children were divided into three age groups 3-4-5 years. A questionnaire was distributed and contained information on oral feeding habits, socio-economic status and educational Status of the mother. The results, and data analysis showed that the prevalence of ECC for pre-school children was 84.8%, the mean dmft and dmfs score in the group was in 3 years ( 4.09 (5.22=+6.22 & 2.85+=respectively. In 4 years3.43+=4.12) &7.29 += 8.25 ) .In 5 years (4.93 +=4.42 & (11.962+=10.157. The value of the significant caries index SIC was 9.02. We obtained on 492 questionnaire which was observed a significant relationship between ECC and age of children , socio-economic status of the family, the educational status of the mother, feeding habits ( quantity of sweet consumption per day- time of sweet consumed between meals, using baby bottle ).
