In this research electrochemical treatment was used to treat Al-Sin water that feed Banias
thermal station boilers for generate electricity , this recycled pure water minimize
corrosion and wear of turbine, the current of (2A) and (12V) was applied
by
Transformer on metal electrodes of aluminum. The electrochemical treatment efficiency
was studied.
Results revealed that the turbidity decreased for about (98%), and that total dissolved
solids (TDS) and conductivity were reduced by about (61%) and (70.8%) respectively after
one hour of treatment process.
In this work the electrochemical behavior of Para-nitro aniline
and metoxy benzealdehyde was studied by cyclic voltammetric
method on glassy carbon electrode in alkaline medium . It was
found that the Para- nitro aniline needed five electrons to reduce to
the azo group.
In this research, the electrochemical reduction of hydrogen process
and the factors affecting the reduction potential have been studied
in this research. The effect of acid concentration on the shifting of
the volt-ampero-metric curves that expres
s the reduction process
and so its effect on both the reduction potential value of hydronium
ions on drop mercury electrode, and the speed value of reduction
reaction was studied. Then an amount of pyridine as organic
substance was added to a specific volume of acid in a specific
concentration to figure out the relationship between the amount of
pyridine added and the cathode current of the reaction to find out
the effect of added pyridine on the reaction speed and the
relationship between the amount of added pyridine and the
hydrogen reduction potential.
Pyridine was added to amount of acid to study the effect of
theaddition on the hydrogen reduction over potential.
Welded joints corrosion phenomena for some kinds of stainless steels and nickel alloy was studied in
polluted phosphoric acid 37.7%H3Po4 using electrochemical techniques like Tafel polarization. Corrosion
rate of base metal and weld metal had calcu
lated & compared among these alloys.
Laboratory Test results showed the change in both corrosion rate and corrosion current densities (Icorr)
for tested alloys, and there is a clear difference between base metal and weld metal in most of tested alloys
, which lead to high corrosion rates of welded joint, and change in its properties then gets out of service in
some service conditions. The stainless steel 904L has low corrosion rates and low difference in corrosion
rates between base metal and weld metal, so it may be the most suitable alloy, among all the studied
alloys, for exploitation in polluted phosphoric acid 37.7%H3Po4 produced at the General Fertilizer
Company in Homs city.
This research showed the great importance for following studies of the effect of polluted phosphoric acid,
produced in General Fertilizer Company, on the high corrosion resisting alloys, to reach suitable alloys
for equipments and machines used for
its production, because of its high corrosion rates that create many
corrosion problems in these equipments and machines.
