This paper numerically investigates the feasibility of lensless zoomable holographic multiple projections to tilted planes. We have already developed lensless zoomable holographic single projection using scaled diffraction, which calculates diffraction between parallel planes with different sampling pitches. The structure of this zoomable holographic projection is very simple because it does not need a lens; however, it only projects a single image to a plane parallel to the hologram. The lensless zoomable holographic projection in this paper is capable of projecting multiple images onto tilted planes simultaneously.

We consider Lipschitz percolation in $d+1$ dimensions above planes tilted by an angle $gamma$ along one or several coordinate axes. In particular, we are interested in the asymptotics of the critical probability as $d to infty$ as well as $gamma to p i/4.$ Our principal results show that the convergence of the critical probability to 1 is polynomial as $dto infty$ and $gamma to pi/4.$ In addition, we identify the correct order of this polynomial convergence and in $d=1$ we also obtain the correct prefactor.
Reconstruction of directional fields is a need in many geometry processing tasks, such as image tracing, extraction of 3D geometric features, and finding principal surface directions. A common approach to the construction of directional fields from d ata relies on complex optimization procedures, which are usually poorly formalizable, require a considerable computational effort, and do not transfer across applications. In this work, we propose a deep learning-based approach and study the expressive power and generalization ability.
Imagining a colored realistic image from an arbitrarily drawn sketch is one of the human capabilities that we eager machines to mimic. Unlike previous methods that either requires the sketch-image pairs or utilize low-quantity detected edges as sketc hes, we study the exemplar-based sketch-to-image (s2i) synthesis task in a self-supervised learning manner, eliminating the necessity of the paired sketch data. To this end, we first propose an unsupervised method to efficiently synthesize line-sketches for general RGB-only datasets. With the synthetic paired-data, we then present a self-supervised Auto-Encoder (AE) to decouple the content/style features from sketches and RGB-images, and synthesize images that are both content-faithful to the sketches and style-consistent to the RGB-images. While prior works employ either the cycle-consistence loss or dedicated attentional modules to enforce the content/style fidelity, we show AEs superior performance with pure self-supervisions. To further improve the synthesis quality in high resolution, we also leverage an adversarial network to refine the details of synthetic images. Extensive experiments on 1024*1024 resolution demonstrate a new state-of-art-art performance of the proposed model on CelebA-HQ and Wiki-Art datasets. Moreover, with the proposed sketch generator, the model shows a promising performance on style mixing and style transfer, which require synthesized images to be both style-consistent and semantically meaningful. The two-point complex coherence function constitutes a complete representation for scalar quasi-monochromatic optical fields. Exploiting dynamically reconfigurable slits implemented with a digital micromirror device, we report on measurements of the complex two-point coherence function for partially coherent light scattering from a `scene comprising one or two objects at different transverse and axial positions with respect to the source. Although the intensity shows no discernible shadows in absence of a lens, numerically back-propagating the measured complex coherence function allows estimating the objects sizes and locations -- and thus the reconstruction of the scene.
The existence of polyexcitons, the $N$-body complexes of excitons for $N > 2$ in 3D bulk systems, has been controversial for more than 40 years since its first theoretical suggestion. We investigated the stability of fundamental excitonic complexes i n diamond numerically with the stochastic variational method (SVM) and an explicitly correlated Gaussian (ECG) basis. The electron-hole many-body system is described by an effective mass Hamiltonian. Our model includes the effective mass anisotropy and multiple valley and band degrees of freedom. We show that the excitons, trions, biexcitons, charged biexcitons, and triexcitons are stable in diamond. Numerical calculations reproduce from 81% to 86% of the experimentally reported binding energies for neutral bound states.
