We consider a binary Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) with nonlinear repulsive interactions and linear spin-orbit (SO) and Zeeman-splitting couplings. In the presence of the trapping harmonic-oscillator (HO) potential, we report the existence of even, odd, and asymmetric spatial modes. They feature alternating domains with opposite directions of the pseudo-spin, i.e., anti-ferromagnetic structures, which is explained by the interplay of the linear couplings, HO confinement, and repulsive self-interaction. The number of the domains is determined by the strength of the SO coupling. The modes are constructed analytically in the weakly nonlinear system. The dynamical stability of the modes is investigated by means of the Bogoliubov-de Gennes equations and direct simulations. A notable result is that the multi-domain-wall (DW) structures are stable, alternating between odd and even shapes, while the simplest single-DW structure is unstable. Thus, the system features a transition to the complex ground states under the action of the SO coupling. The addition of the Zeeman splitting transforms the odd modes into asymmetric ones via spontaneous symmetry breaking. The results suggest possibilities for switching the binary system between states with opposite (pseudo) magnetization by external fields, and realization of similar stable states and dynamical effects in solid-state and nonlinear-optical settings emulated by the SO-coupled BECs.

It was recently found that, under the action of the spin-orbit coupling (SOC) and Zeeman splitting (ZS), binary BEC with intrinsic cubic nonlinearity supports families of gap solitons, provided that the kinetic energy is negligible in comparison with the SOC and ZS terms. We demonstrate that, also under the action of SOC and ZS, a similar setting may be introduced for BEC with two components representing different atomic states, resonantly coupled by microwave radiation, while the Poisson equation accounts for the feedback of the two-component atomic wave function onto the radiation. The microwave-mediated interaction induces an effective nonlinear trapping potential, which strongly affects the purport of the linear spectrum in this system. As a result, families of both gap and embedded solitons (those overlapping with the continuous spectrum) are found, being chiefly stable. The shape of the solitons features exact or broken skew symmetry. In addition to fundamental solitons (whose shape may or may not include a node), a family of dipole solitons is constructed too, which are even more stable than their fundamental counterparts. A nontrivial stability area is identified for moving solitons in the present system, which lacks Galilean invariance. Colliding solitons merge into a single one.
A Faraday-wave-like parametric instability is investigated via mean-field and Floquet analysis in immiscible binary Bose-Einstein condensates. The condensates form a so-called textit{ball-shell} structure in a two-dimensional harmonic trap. To trigge r the dynamics, the scattering length of the core condensate is periodically modulated in time. We reveal that in the dynamics the interface becomes unstable towards the formation of oscillating patterns. The interface oscillates sub-harmonically exhibiting an $m$-fold rotational symmetry that can be controlled by maneuvering the amplitude and the frequency of the modulation. Using Floquet analysis we are able to predict the generated interfacial tension of the mixture and derive a dispersion relation for the natural frequencies of the emergent patterns. A heteronuclear system composed of $^{87}$Rb-$^{85}$Rb atoms can be used for the experimental realization of the phenomenon, yet our results are independent of the specifics of the employed atomic species {and of the parameter at which the driving is applied.
We predict the existence of stable fundamental and vortical bright solitons in dipolar Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) with repulsive dipole-dipole interactions (DDI). The condensate is trapped in the 2D plane with the help of the repulsive contact interactions whose local strength grows $sim r^{4}$ from the center to periphery, while dipoles are oriented perpendicular to the self-trapping plane. The confinement in the perpendicular direction is provided by the usual harmonic-oscillator potential. The objective is to extend the recently induced concept of the self-trapping of bright solitons and solitary vortices in the pseudopotential, which is induced by the repulsive local nonlinearity with the strength growing from the center to periphery, to the case when the trapping mechanism competes with the long-range repulsive DDI. Another objective is to extend the analysis for elliptic vortices and solitons in an anisotropic nonlinear pseudopotential. Using the variational approximation (VA) and numerical simulations, we construct families of self-trapped modes with vorticities $ell =0$ (fundamental solitons), $ell =1$, and $ell =2$. The fundamental solitons and vortices with $ell =1$ exist up to respective critical values of the eccentricity of the anisotropic pseudopotential, being stable in the entire existence regions. The vortices with $ell =2$ are stable solely in the isotropic model.
We theoretically investigate the dynamics of modulation instability (MI) in two-dimensional spin-orbit coupled Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs). The analysis is performed for equal densities of pseudo-spin components. Different combination of the sig ns of intra- and inter-component interaction strengths are considered, with a particular emphasize on repulsive interactions. We observe that the unstable modulation builds from originally miscible condensates, depending on the combination of the signs of the intra- and inter-component interaction strengths. The repulsive intra- and inter-component interactions admit instability and the MI immiscibility condition is no longer significant. Influence of interaction parameters such as spin-orbit and Rabi coupling on MI are also investigated. The spin-orbit coupling (SOC) inevitably contributes to instability regardless of the nature of the interaction. In the case of attractive interaction, SOC manifest in enhancing the MI. Thus, a comprehensive study of MI in two-dimensional spin-orbit coupled binary BECs of pseudo-spin components is presented.

Solitons play a fundamental role in dynamics of nonlinear excitations. Here we explore the motion of solitons in one-dimensional uniform Bose-Einstein condensates subjected to a spin-orbit coupling (SOC). We demonstrate that the spin dynamics of soli tons is governed by a nonlinear Bloch equation. The spin dynamics influences the orbital motion of the solitons leading to the spin-orbit effects in the dynamics of the macroscopic quantum objects (mean-field solitons). The latter perform oscillations with a frequency determined by the SOC, Raman coupling, and intrinsic nonlinearity. These findings reveal unique features of solitons affected by the SOC, which is confirmed by analytical considerations and numerical simulations of the underlying Gross-Pitaevskii equations.
