Tropical limit for macroscopic systems in equilibrium defined as the formal limit of Boltzmann constant k going to 0 is discussed. It is shown that such tropical limit is well-adapted to analyse properties of systems with highly degenerated energy le vels, particularly of frustrated systems like spin ice and spin glasses. Tropical free energy is a piecewise linear function of temperature, tropical entropy is a piecewise constant function and the system has energy for which tropical Gibbs probability has maximum. Properties of systems in the points of jump of entropy are studied. Systems with finite and infinitely many energy levels and phenomena of limiting temperatures are discussed.
Based on the well-established theory of discrete conjugate nets in discrete differential geometry, we propose and examine discrete analogues of important objects and notions in the theory of semi-Hamiltonian systems of hydrodynamic type. In particula r, we present discrete counterparts of (generalised) hodograph equations, hyperelliptic integrals and associated cycles, characteristic speeds of Whitham type and (implicitly) the corresponding Whitham equations. By construction, the intimate relationship with integrable system theory is maintained in the discrete setting.
A large class of semi-Hamiltonian systems of hydrodynamic type is interpreted as the equations governing families of critical points of functions obeying the classical linear Darboux equations for conjugate nets. The distinguished role of the Euler-Po isson-Darboux equations and associated Lauricella-type functions is emphasised. In particular, it is shown that the classical g-phase Whitham equations for the KdV and NLS equations are obtained via a g-fold iterated Darboux-type transformation generated by appropriate Lauricella functions.
Interrelation between Thoms catastrophes and differential equations revisited. It is shown that versal deformations of critical points for singularities of A,D,E type are described by the systems of Hamilton-Jacobi type equations. For particular nonv ersal unfoldings the corresponding equations are equivalent to the integrable two-component hydrodynamic type systems like classical shallow water equation and dispersionless Toda system and others. Pecularity of such integrable systems is that the generating functions for corresponding hierarchies, which obey Euler-Poisson-Darboux equation, contain information about normal forms of higher order and higher corank singularities.
Complete description of the singular sectors of the 1-layer Benney system (classical long wave equation) and dToda system is presented. Associated Euler-Poisson-Darboux equations E(1/2,1/2) and E(-1/2,-1/2) are the main tool in the analysis. A comple te list of solutions of the 1-layer Benney system depending on two parameters and belonging to the singular sector is given. Relation between Euler-Poisson-Darboux equations E(a,a) with opposite sign of a is discussed.

Algebraic scheme for constructing deformations of structure constants for associative algebras generated by a deformation driving algebras (DDAs) is discussed. An ideal of left divisors of zero plays a central role in this construction. Deformations of associative three-dimensional algebras with the DDA being a three-dimensional Lie algebra and their connection with integrable systems are studied.

Interrelations between discrete deformations of the structure constants for associative algebras and discrete integrable systems are reviewed. A theory of deformations for associative algebras is presented. Closed left ideal generated by the elements representing the multiplication table plays a central role in this theory. Deformations of the structure constants are generated by the Deformation Driving Algebra and governed by the central system of equations. It is demonstrated that many discrete equations like discrete Boussinesq equation, discrete WDVV equation, discrete Schwarzian KP and BKP equations, discrete Hirota-Miwa equations for KP and BKP hierarchies are particular realizations of the central system. An interaction between the theories of discrete integrable systems and discrete deformations of associative algebras is reciprocal and fruitful. An interpretation of the Menelaus relation (discrete Schwarzian KP equation), discrete Hirota-Miwa equation for KP hierarchy, consistency around the cube as the associativity conditions and the concept of gauge equivalence, for instance, between the Menelaus and KP configurations are particular examples.

Deformations of the structure constants for a class of associative noncommutative algebras generated by Deformation Driving Algebras (DDAs) are defined and studied. These deformations are governed by the Central System (CS). Such a CS is studied for the case of DDA being the algebra of shifts. Concrete examples of deformations for the three-dimensional algebra governed by discrete and mixed continuous-discrete Boussinesq (BSQ) and WDVV equations are presented. It is shown that the theory of the Darboux transformations, at least for the BSQ case, is completely incorporated into the proposed scheme of deformations.

Discrete and q-difference deformations of the structure constants for a class of associative noncommutative algebras are studied. It is shown that these deformations are governed by a central system of discrete or q-difference equations which in particular cases represent discrete and q-differenc
