This paper suggests improving the quality and performance of electrical grid by using Four Chopper circuit in the DC –Link of the variable speed drive system with 12 pulse rectifier. In addition, it analyses the effects on the ripple factor for both current and voltage in DClink and improving the system's stability. For this study a variable speed drive system has been simulated and designed with the proposed chopper and 12 pulse rectifiers. In order to confirm the ability of Using four - quadrant chopper with rectifier circuits and its ability to improve the stability of the power systems, a variable speed system has been simulated Finally, A discussion of the results was introduced. The turbine control purpose is to achieve the maximum limit of wind power, associated with reducing the mechanical loads. The current control techniques do not take into consideration the dynamical side of wind and turbine, which leads to power los s. To improve the effectiveness of the nonlinear controllers, we can derive the nonlinear feedback controllers for static and dynamic conditions in order to reach the wind speed estimator. Then we can test the controllers by a mathematical model applied on the wind turbine simulator, with disturbances and noise. The results have shown important improvements in comparison with the current used controllers.
The spread of the modern data transfer techniques, in modern industrial and agricultural applications, and service areas, leads to the need to transfer this data effectively and flexibly, within installations parts. This research aims to apply the h ybrid mechanism, based on the use of ZigBee technology, and CAN Bus together to ensure the best performance, in accordance with the performance indicators required by the networks of these facilities, in near-real time operation. The study attempts to compare this mechanism with other mechanisms proposed in similar research. The proposed solution supports the use of a hybrid data transfer networks, based on the internetworking of CAN Bus networks, using a backbone based on wireless ZigBee technology. This solution proposes an appropriate structure for gateways between the hybrid parts of the network. The research has concluded that the proposed mechanism preference, compared with the proposed mechanisms in similar research, according to the standards of performance indicators, is suitable for this kind of networks, as it allows us to recommend the use of this mechanism in the service and industrial applications. The NS2 network simulator is used to evaluate and compare the obtained results.
This study concentrates on two basic problems:i)- Increasing of power efficiency in Industrial premises to reduce the energy needed for product unit without any impact on the production level . To achieve this goal, lighting system should be opera ted in a certain condition, capacitor banks for power factor improvement should be installed, and energy losses of distribution transformers should be reduced.
This research aimed to study some chemical characteristics of rainwater in the region located at the East of Baniyas area the coastal region of Syria . Baniyas area contain complex of industrial facilities including oil refinery, electrical power g eneration station and oil transportation. pH values, concentration of trace metals (Pb, Cu, and Cd) and major ions (Ca2+, Mg 2⁺, Na⁺, NH₄⁺, K⁺,SO₄2-, NO3⁻, Cl⁻, F⁻) were determined during the period from October 2012 to May 2013. Samples were collected from 15 sites differ in distances from the emissions sources. Most of samples have normal pH value. The pH values decreased while the concentration of SO₄2-, NO3⁻, and trace metals Pb, Cu, Cd increased significantly by getting closer to emission source up on 2500m. The changes of the chemical characteristics of rainwater were significant.
Although Multi-Input-Multi-Output MIMO improve reliability of wireless transmission system and increase bit rate, but this improvement relay on higher cost in Hardware and increase in size as well as complex structure, so the cost-effective challen ge still exists to implement these technique. Performance can be improved without increasing the cost significantly by using virtual MIMO systems where the spacing is achieved by using pre-existing devices within the network infrastructure, these systems called cooperative communication systems, which are the subject of this research. The simulation is based on standard software for modeling MATLAB and open sourced Network simulator-3 (NS-3) to characterize problems in wireless communications systems and propose appropriate solutions.
