Residual palatal fistulas are common after repair of palatal cleft and tumar incision in palate and nasal cavity. Repair of residual oronasal fistula is not always successful. Twolayer closure techniques that close these fistulas with soft tissue are a common practice. Turnover flaps are the most used flaps and often the sole method for nasal side closure of fistula. Anteriorly based inferior turbinate flap can be used to provide soft tissue for nasal-side closure when turnover flaps will not provide sufficient tissue for this purpose.
The aim of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) for closer of oroantral communication (OAC) during two months of clinical and radiographical follow-up. Eleven patients of both sexes(45.5% males ,54.5% females) included in this study who had (OAC) after dental extraction. The closer was done by using fibrin clot which was plugged into the alveolar socket of the extraction site that contains the communication, and then we sutured the fibrin membrane to the gingival borders above it. The results revealed that (PRF) can close the oroantral communication successfully in 81.8% of the sample with the following complications :pain 27.3% , edema 18.2% , dehiscence 18.2%. We conclude that platelet-rich fibrin can close oroantral communication that results from dental extraction when it has been used as a clot and membrane together with simple complicated subsequent clinical symptoms and without radiographical signs of inflammation of the maxillary sinus.
the lapse of rhinoplasty results in cleft lip patients is considered one of the challenges which limit of plastic surgery in oral facial deformities This research aimed to evaluate the usage of two kinds of nasal stints (plastic and acrylic) at the results of rhinoplasty in cleft lip patients.
Nasal reconstruction is considered as one of the difficult reconstructive problems to solve. That is due to the importance of the cosmetic appearance of the nose, the several types of tissues forming the nose and the complexity of the anatomy of th e nose. Due to the small nostrils, delicate tissue and lack of surrounding tissues enough for reconstruction, this problem becomes more difficult to in the reconstruction of children’s noses, The aim of this research is to look at the cases of nasal reconstruction in children at Mouassat university hospital, and to suggest a new modification on the forehead flap, which leads to lengthening the flap by recruiting a piece of the Galea as a facial flap connected to the distal end of the forehead flap. This flap will be covered with a split thickness skin graft, then it will be folded to reconstruct the inner surface of the nose.
A prospective study included eighty tow patients (57 male) the range ages were (42 year) underwent surgery and developed postoperative enterocutaneous fistulas in the department of general surgery in Alasad and Almuasat Universitiys Hospitals betw een 2014 and 2016 .After the diagnosis performed ,They were approached according to specific strategy, and determined the onset of developing the enterocutaneous fistulas from the surgical procedure. the rate of developing in the first week was 68.2%. Accompanied symptoms and resulted complications were studied and classified according to an essential criteria.
