This Study presents results of experiments on smooth, thin square plates with different central holes diameters to measure the drag coefficient of flow through the plates. The experiments were performed in a subsonic open wind tunnel at the hydraulic laboratory, Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Damascus.

Background& Objective: This research is carried out to investigate the Anti-inflammatory activity of the alcoholic extract of flower buds of Crataegus laevigata in experimentally-induced arthritis in rats. Materials & Methods: the inflammation was i nduced experimentally by Carrageenan, the standard material that causes non-immune acute inflammation. The size of edema was measured before and after the inducing the inflammation, in control group as well as in group treated by extract and by Diclofenac. The measurements persist until the 4th hour following the injection of Carrageenan. In another set of experiment, the important biomarker, TNF-α, was calibrated in inflammation-induced groups of rats that received extract or Diclofenac and compared with control. Results: The extract significantly reduced the size of edema compared with control and this effect was not less than that of Diclofenac, the standard anti-inflammatory drug. Indeed, the extract lowered the values of TNF-α. Conclusion: The Crataegus laevigata has clear anti-inflammatony effect , but it should be further investigated.
This research has studied the effect of changing the Lacunarity’s value on the radiation characteristics of square fractal antenna arrays. For the array, which has fractal distribution for its elements on both Y and Z axis, the result indicate that t he half power beamwidth (HPBW) decrease when the value of Lacunarity increase. The combination of fractal geometry with antenna array led to increase the freedom degrees of design parameters of this antenna array, by adding the fractal shape's parameters to the regular antenna array's parameters. Which help us to improve some of radiation characteristics of these antennas. One of the most important results of this combination is the advantage of side lobe level (SSL). By the analyzing of the effect of changing the Lacunarity’s value and give different values for another antenna design parameters, the level of side lobe decrease in some models and many lobes appear in another models which can be used as smart antenna models.
This research presents an empirical relationship between modulus of elasticity with compressive strength concrete that is prepeard from localized materials and containing several perecentages of natural pozzolan (0 ,10 ,15, 20)% , also for tow cem ent quantity (350 ,400 ) Kg/m3 and for tow ages(28 ,90 ) day .Then comparing the experimentally obtained result with the mechanical properties calculated using the recommend relationship from the various design codes. A new empirical relationship between elastic modulus, and compressive strength for concrete containing natural pozzolan is proposed.
That study was based on a BLAST search analysis performed against the complete genome sequences using as a query sequence some of the PSA protein sequences reported in the literature. In our study, we have first isolated, cultivated, typed and str ain of L. major. Then we have investigated experimentally the complete list of PSA genes coding for membrane proteins in its genome, using PCR approach based on specific primers. In conclusion, we have detected the physical presence of 22 different genes coding for membrane proteins in the genome of Syrian strain of L. major.
