Although malignant fibrous histiocytoma are uncommon in the oral cavity. We observed these neoplasms in jawbones in 7 cases (5 in the maxilla and 2 in the mandible) affecting males aged 24 to 51 years. Histologically the pleomorphic pattern is dominant, and all patterns are characterized by active proliferative cells, and scattered histiocytes which stained positively by CD74 and CD68 These lesions cause radiolucencies with poorly defined margins and no radiographically distinct features. Differential diagnosis must involve osteosarcoma, chondrosarcoma and fibrosarcoma . The treatmenm of choice is wide surgical excision.

Objective: to study and evaluate the surgical operative process in the management of Benign Tumors and Leukoplakia in the Oral Cavity by using Laser CO2. Materials and methods: a total of 18 patients (10 males and 8 females) with mean age 50 years , and diagnosed with Benign tumorous Lesions or Leukoplakia on mucosa of the oral cavity, were treated by Vaporization by using CO2 Laser in Al-Assad university hospital. The postoperative complications were recorded within 7 days after the surgery, and the wounds was assigned until entire healing. Results: 8(44%) patients had week pain after 24 hour of surgery, and reduced to 2(11%) patients in the third day. Edema was seen by 8(44%) patients after 24 hour of surgery, and reduced to 1(6%) patient in the third day.5 (28%) patients showed disturbance within oral functions, and became 1(6%) patient in the third day. No complications were seen after 7 days of surgery. No infection or bleeding were recorded within following time.no statistically significant differences between Lesion kind and pain degree, and no relationship between Pain degree and Disturbance of the Lesions. Entire healing was satisfactory in all Wounds and no scar were seen . Conclusion: CO2 Laser is effective method in manage and minimize the complications during Healing process after the management of Benign Tumors and Leukoplakia in oral cavity.
Malignant Pleural Effusion is a common complication of advenced malignancies، Particularly lung and breast cancer. Many patients experience considerable dyspnea shortness of breath، dry cough and chest pain، wich decisively reduces their capacity for physical activity and their quality of life. Between 1995 – 1998. 39 cases with malignant pleural effusion were treated. Pleurectomy was performed in 4 cases .The lung was trapped in 5 cases.Pleurodesis with talc slurry for 25 cases، with Tetracyclin for 4 cases and with Bleomycin for one case were performed. 73% - of these cases had positive results (decrease the dyspnea، no effusion) during 1st month .and 66،6% had positive results too during 3 months. So ،Pleurodesis is an effective and ، simple method of manegement of malignant Pleural effusion It has also low cost and low complications.
Mitochondria are the major organelles in eukaryotic cells primarily responsible for many cellular functions. Recently, a decrease or increase in mtDNA copy number has been increasingly recognized in human cancers.
Neurofibromas (NFs) are rare neurogenic tumors of the oral cavity. They can present as solitary or multiple when associated with neurofibromatosis-1 (NF-1)/von Recklinghausen's disease. Solitary intraoral NFs unassociated with NF-1 are sporadic and m imic any other soft tissue tumor of the oral cavity. The authors report a case of a 49-year-old deaf-mute lady who presented with slowly growing solitary mass in the anterolateral aspect of the tongue, which was successfully managed in the outpatient clinic with complete excision and base cauterization under local anesthesia without complicationsز
