Ligating between brackets and orthodontic wire is considered one of the important factor affecting the frictional resistance during sliding movements. Aim of study: For these reasons this investigation aimed to compare the friction associating with sliding movement for two types of brackets : selfligating brackets and conventional brackets ; along stainless steel arch wires.

Since the solution of direct bonding of orthodontic brackets as an alternative to full encircling of the dental arch, researchers have begun conducting studies to evaluate the adhesion materials and different methods of enamel preparation to reach the most appropriate method for the requirements of ideal adhesion.
The laser has been used as an alternative effective method of etching enamel surface for direct bonding of orthodontic brackets instead of phosphoric acid. The aim of this study was to compare shear bond strength of orthodontic brackets following Er- YAG versus Nd-YAG Laser etching. Eighty human extracted upper premolars were collected and divided randomly into two equal groups; the buccal enamel surface of the first group was etched by Er-YAG laser while the second group was etched by Nd-YAG laser. Each group was divided into two equal subgroups according to the bonding material type (chemical cure resin or light cure resin). The mechanical test has occurred by using a universal testing machine (Instron). The finding showed that no statistically significant differences in mean of shear bond strength between (Nd-YAG, Er-YAG) Laser etching group were found regardless of the bonding type.
This study compared the durability of a cast metal wedge restoration, a cast metal endocrown restoration, and a method of constructing a composite resin core without a root wedge when applying 45-degree inclined compressive forces using a mechanical testing device.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the shear and tensile bond strengths of orthodontic brackets bonded with self etching primer and resin-reinforced glass ionomer cement in comparison with light cured resin adhesive. The tested self-etching primer and adhesive systems produced bond strength values higher than that of the light cured resin adhesive whereas the resin-reinforced glass ionomer cement showed a significantly reduced bond strength . Clinically, the use of self-etching primer and adhesive systems is suitable for orthodontic bracket bonding.
The Objective is to determined whether enamel conditioning with sodium hypochlorite (5,25%) and EDTA prior to etching was increased shear bond strength of orthodontic brackets bonded with resin – modified glass ionomer. our sample consisted of 42 extracted human premolars were randomly divided into 3 groups.
