Abortion is the most common complication during pregnancy up to 25% of clinically diagnosed pregnancies .It is the most common cause of maternal morbidity and mortality in the first trimester. There is need to evaluate the quality of the services p rovided to the patients and to what extent it is compatible with new evidence based practices subsequently working on its development and updating This study aims at describing medical services provided to the patients both during and after abortion in the Maternity University Hospital.
This paper reports a retrospective record analysis of the last six years which was done in Damascus’ Maternity University Hospital, to determine the birth prevalence of birth defects, describe its pattern, and discuss methodological problems of su ch study. Of a total of 87638 births, 1158 cases of birth defects were found, giving a birth prevalence of 13.2/1000 livebirths and stillbirths (95% CI: 12.8-13.6). The most frequent defects were the neural tube defects which accounted for 51.6 % of total defects. A statistically significant linear trend of increasing NTDs was noticed. This study highlights the necessity of applying available strategies of preventing the preventable neural tube defects. It also suggests the establishment of special registry of birth defects to determine prevalence, trends and their determinants.
Preterm labor is still has the main cause of preterm birth. The aim of this study to know the rate of this complication in our hospital, and the relation between preterm labor and some risk factors like parity ,maternal age and multiple pregnancy, and the relation between premature labor and gestational age, gestational Wight and apgar`s score .
- Introduction: Postoperative pain is an important factor which exerts several physical effects in the cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and urinary systems. In addition, psychologic effects that cause stress and anxiety. - Aim: This study aimed to e xamine the effect of breathing exercises on relieving postoperative pain in orthopedic patients. - Method: This study carried at Universal Alassad Hospital in Latakia, on a sample of 60 patients who underwent orthopedic surgery between March 2015 and June 2015, aged between 18-70 years. The sample was divided to two equal groups: control group (30) that has been left to hospital routine, and study group (30) that has been applied deep breathing exercises for 3 days after surgery as 3 times, each breathing exercise session took 5-10 minutes, then patients’ pain levelsin two group was assessed by verbal and visual pain scale.

Investigating exon 28 by PCR technique and DNA sequencingrevealed mutation A1(C>T) in patientA and a mutationB1(G>A) inpatientB. These mutations are responsible for the presence of VWD. Assuring that natural genes involved in coagulation are well organised and automated.
