In this study, we have designed and manufactured a simple and relatively inexpensive solar cell, from the available materials in the local markets, where the cell is contained of the outer body (Case), which is a plastic box on a parallel form of rectangles of acrylic transparent allows the passage of light. It has resilient and high durability, and two poles of red copper higher purity, one of them has been thermally treatment to different temperatures (200, 300, 400°C), which turns the copper pole from carrier to semiconductor (cuprous oxide, Cu2O), using heating device (Hot plate). The other pole left without treatment and the electrolyte solution (Gel) has been developed on the (Hydrogel), thus freeing electrons from the treatment plate to the Hydrogel layer then to the clean plate (non-treatment), during shining light. The results showed that the cell voltage proportional to the polyelectrolyte concentration and the area of copper pole (cuprous oxide). As the experiments showed that the temperature has an important role in transforming the metal carrier to the semiconductor, and whenever this conversion possible whenever the pole of the light sensitively more effective and efficient.

A Photonic Crystal Fiber (PCF) is a special class of optical fibers which is made of a single material and having air holes in the cladding. This paper studies and compares the optical characteristics such as effective area, confinement loss and no nlinearity, among three different PCF's structures: Hexagonal PCF (HPCF), Octagonal PCF (O-PCF) and Decagonal PCF (D-PCF) with varied structural parameters (number of the air-holes rings, the air-hole's diameter, and the lattice constant), and the target is to use the fiber in a Raman amplifier. Proposed structures are simulated by using COMSOL MULTIPHYSICS which depends on Finite Element Method (FEM). The numerically simulated results shows that Decagonal PCF (D-PCF) offers lower confinement loss, lower effective area, and larger value of nonlinearity than the other two structures. It is seen that Decagonal PCF(D-PCF) is suitable for long transmission fiber applications.
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of high and low fat diets on glucose tolerance test on healthy human beings. The study was carried out on 18 volunteers( subjects), their ages between 23-31 years with an average body weight. They w ere receiving reasonable amount of fat in their normal food ,they were divided into two groups. The first group ate a low fat diet providing less than 30g of fat per day for nine days. After fifteen days period on their usual dietary regimen the volunteers ate a high fat diet for nine days. The second group of volunteers were maintained on a reversed dietary regimen. i.e. high fat before low fat diet. this second group was carefully assessed beforehand to ensure only those whose fat intake was usually less than 130g of fat.
This research introduce a detailed study of designing high efficiency 100W DC-DC Boost Converter for standalone photovoltaic system and practical implementation of it’s circuit, by selecting the best elements with less loss in power in the tow des igns,to reach the best efficiency by theoretical calculations and simulation in ORCA, and compare the results with the practical implementation. Also this research shows a study of effect of frequency variation on the efficiency of the converter.
The main goal of this search is to design maximum solar power batteries charging system, Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) system is used in the photovoltaic (PV) system consisting of a buck-boost Direct Current DC/DC converter, which is controll ed by a microcontroller unit, The microcontroller is programmed with a simple and reliable MPPT called Incremental Conductance (InCond). The designed battery charger was tested, and the results obtained had insured about the permanent control on the battery charging. Comparison study was done, with PWM solar charger controller, it was obvious by The experimental results, that the battery get charged in a very short time period considering of the solar sun light hours per day, and the characteristics of the used solar panel, which confirm the reliable performance of the suggested charging system.
In Damascus University a researches of sustainable project named "Thermoacoustic solar" going on. Early researches were done on Thermoacoustic devices, modeling equations for design were submitted. The aimed wave engine using low technology, the f inal goal is building large sized tunnel. Since It is necessary to build an evaluating device, helping to push the research to a straight rout to the goal.
