The idea of use ceramic margins for metal-ceramic crowns was founded to overcome problem of grayness for gingival margins that caused by metal collar in metal-ceramic crowns , but at the same time there are a lot of cautions on decrease mechanical resistance for these restorations. This study aims to study fracture resistance of metal-ceramic crowns with ceramic margins in 1 or 2 mm. long, and compare it with mechanical resistance of metal-ceramic crowns with metal collar.

Vibration of Ultrasonic has used for scaling and periodontal curettage, it is also has used for metal crown and metal-ceramic crown removal, subsequently, using the tips whether for scaling or removing crown, they will be in direct contact with th is crown, This research aimed to evaluate the surface of metal-ceramic crown after exposure to Vibration of Ultrasonic tips.
It was recently noted that there are serious trials to develop dental materials used in the prosthodontics. As a result of this development, some veneering ceramic systems used in metal-ceramic crowns have been appeared. In view of the major impo rtance of marginal fit and its role in the success of restoration it must be a study and evaluation of marginal fit for these modern systems. This research aimed to comparasion of marginal fit for metal ceramic crowns using two types of veneering ceramic.
Introduction :The demand for posterior aesthetic restorations has dramatically increased in recent years. Several new materials have been developed with improved aesthetic, adhesive and mechanical properties. Theoretically, nano-structured dental resin omposites are purported to have increased wear and hardness resistance compared with hybrid composites and may favor the achievement of restoratives with better long-term performance. Aim: The wear resistance of different types of resin composites were evaluated in the in vitro study. Material and methods :Two nanohybrid restorative composites -Tetric®EvoCeram (Ivoclar-Vivadent) and CeramXTM(Dentsply) - were compared with a microhybrid material - Tetric®Ceram (Ivoclar-Vivadent) and hybrid material Spectrom (Dentsply) . wear resistance : fifteen specimens (3x3 mm) of each material were subjected to wear tests . The data were analyzed by 1-way ANOVA(<=0.5). Results : The Tetric®EvoCeram composite resin exhibited significantly less wear than the CeramX and Tetric®Ceram material . Conclusions :In terms of wear resistance, nano-structured composites may perform either similarly or comparatively better than a microfilled and hyprid composite . nanohybrid restorative composites can thus be considered as a good restorative material.
The aim of this study To compare in vitro shear bond strength (SBS) of different orthodontic adhesives in and rebonding metal brackets after preparing their bases mechanically. Material and methods:Sample consisted of 40 extracted first premolars, randomly divided into two groups (n=20),.Adhesive removed by tungsten carbide bur later the brackets were rebonded. The tests were performed in a tecnotest (6kN) SBS testing machine, at a speed of 1 mm/min. It was found that the mean shear bond strength of Reseliencewas 19.25 MPa and that of Heliosit orthodontic was 10.25MPa.We foundthat the mean shear bond strength of rebonding forReselience was 13.70 and 7.95 forHeliosit. The t-test revealed that there was a significant difference between the shear bond strength of the two groups. We found a significant difference between bonding and rebondingfor Reselience, while there was no significant difference between bonding and rebonding for Heliosit.
With the increase in the number of adult patients seeking orthodontic treatment, the need to ensure sufficient bonding strength for the fixed orthodontic components on the ceramic restorations has become an urgent matter. Adhesion of the orthodontic bracket is an essential and indispensable step.
