Writers often repurpose material from existing texts when composing new documents. Because most documents have more than one source, we cannot trace these connections using only models of document-level similarity. Instead, this paper considers methods for local text reuse detection (LTRD), detecting localized regions of lexically or semantically similar text embedded in otherwise unrelated material. In extensive experiments, we study the relative performance of four classes of neural and bag-of-words models on three LTRD tasks -- detecting plagiarism, modeling journalists' use of press releases, and identifying scientists' citation of earlier papers. We conduct evaluations on three existing datasets and a new, publicly-available citation localization dataset. Our findings shed light on a number of previously-unexplored questions in the study of LTRD, including the importance of incorporating document-level context for predictions, the applicability of of-the-shelf neural models pretrained on general'' semantic textual similarity tasks such as paraphrase detection, and the trade-offs between more efficient bag-of-words and feature-based neural models and slower pairwise neural models.

This paper describes an attempt to reproduce an earlier experiment, previously conducted by the author, that compares hedged and non-hedged NLG texts as part of the ReproGen shared challenge. This reproduction effort was only able to partially replic ate results from the original study. The analyisis from this reproduction effort suggests that whilst it is possible to replicate the procedural aspects of a previous study, replicating the results can prove more challenging as differences in participant type can have a potential impact.
The research discusses roads rehabilitation using foamed bitumen, which is a relatively new method and hasn’t been used in Syria yet due to the lack of the needed labrotory equipments ,and that’s why the main aim of the research is to develop a mo del to stimulate the labrotory experiments needed to evaluate the performance of the rehabilitated pavement (surface deflection – strain ). The model was developed using the finite elements method with the help of ABAQUS modelling software.
Manufacturing processes are the main source of waste materials, however the increasing awareness about the environment has tremendously contributed to the concerns related with disposal of the generated wastes. Solid waste management is one of the ma jor environmental concerns in the world. With the scarcity of space for land filling and due to its ever increasing cost, waste utilization has become an attractive alternative to disposal. Research is being carried out on the utilization of waste products in concrete. Such waste products include discarded tires, plastic, glass, and coal combustion by-product. This paper presents a detailed review about recycled plastics (polyethylene), as aggregates to cement mortar by replace equivalent weight of sand by plastic in regular specimen and watch its effect on the property of mortar include compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, absorption and heating effect. It is clear that compressive strength, splitting tensile strength decreased with increase in plastic content but this property increases by exposing samples to high temperatures.
The large increase in the volume of demolition concrete waste and its impact on the environment has led to reconsider of using concrete demolition rubble as a partial or a whole alternative of natural aggregates to produce new concrete which has th e required properties to use in engineering constructions[1]. With the possibility of improving the mechanical properties of this concrete by processing this aggregates before using it or support this concrete with fiber to improve its structural behavior. This research deals with the study of the replacement the natural aggregates used in concrete with recycled concrete aggregates resulting from the demolition rubble , according to different replacement ratiosranging between 0 % -25 % -50 % -75 % -100% and the impact on the concrete behavior with a natural aggregates and determine the optimal replacementpercentage. The results showed a relative decrease in the concrete resistance on the simple pressure , limited decrease in the volumetric mass also, and a slight adjustment to the behavior of concrete under the loading effect by increasing the replacement proportion of the natural aggregateswith recycled concrete aggregates..
The accelerated structural expansion in most countries has resulted in a major problem related to providing the necessary concrete for these buildings. Besides, the buildings that have become out of service recently has posed a real problem represent ed in demolishing them creating a large amount of hard-to-manage aggregate. The necessity to get rid of the aggregate have opened up the possibilities for attempting to use it as a relative substitute for the natural aggregate. The research focuses on recycling these aggregate in an attempt to use them in producing concrete and other construction materials. The research deals with one of the mechanisms of benefiting from these recycled aggregate through using them in producing concrete through treating the aggregate produced from demolition, and mixing them in quantities that reflect their actual ratio. The results are of great importance economically and environmentally.
