Tinea capitis is a common fungal infection of the scalp. The
purpose of this study was to determine the percentage of the spread
of tinea capitisin Damascus and determine the type of this tinea
capitis and lasted between 2011 and 2015.
The present study was diagnosis and Treatment of dermatophytosis
in Cats. Cases of Mycology Clinic were involved in this study: 58
cats, 1 mounth/4 years aged).Medical exams were: anamnesis,
clinical examination and dermatological exam. Samples we
re
collected from Skin scarping and hair from cats with clinical
suspicion of dermatophytosis. From 58 Cats revaled 18
(31%)showed lesion with dermatophytosis.
Tinea capitis (TC) is a common superficial fungal infection of the scalp caused
by dermatophytes, mainly by the genera Trichophyton and Microsporum.It is primarily a disease of prepubertal
children, being more common in males than females . The eto
logical factors vary from one
region to another and can change within a particular region over time.
This study aim to identify the The most common fungal species which are responsible for producing TC in
children seen in Dermatology and Veneral Diseases Hospital in Damascus.
