The fixation of the humeral,s supracondylare fractures in children by percutaneous pinning is considered a new and good principle in without the disadvantages that appear by treating it by open reduction and internal fixation . A prespective and pers pective study was done for 48 kids whose old was between 2 – 14 year, those kids were admitted and treated surgically by these two methods ( pinning and ORIF ) In AL-ASSAD hospital in LATTAKIA in TISHREEN-UNIVERSITY in 2014 The ages of patients were between 2 – 14 , female ratio was ( 62.5% ) and male ( 37.5% ) the common reasons for these fractures were sportive and home accidents and the dominant upper limb was left . Fractures were isolate in 90% of cases and we noted 4 cases with accompanied and nondisplaced fractures in forearm and wrist that were treated conservatively . Pins and cast were removed in the four weeks . The more common complications were the secondary displacement , movement limitation and cubitus varus. The percutaneous pinning stills an easy way in understanding and application and gives good results for long period functionally and cosmetically , and this way has no important complications which can be avoided .
This study was carried at Al Assad hospital, Lattakia. It is a retrospective study of uterine leiomyoma patients who had been accepted in the Department of Gynecology during the period between 1/6/2011 and 1/6/2013 . The study included 103 patients. We documented information for each patient: age, signs and symptoms, number of pregnancies and births, clinical and vaginal examination, ultrasound, blood tests: hemoglobin, hematocrit and red cell values, and the type of surgical treatment. The prevalence of uterine leiomyoma in this study was 5.1%. The most clinical manifestation of uterine leiomyoma was abnormal uterine bleeding (63.1 %). Hemoglobin was less than 12 g / dL at 59.22% of cases. Hematocrit was less than 36% at 57.28 % of cases. This confirms that uterine leiomyoma patients are at high risk of anemia, (we depended on cut off point of WHO for hemoglobin and hematocrit), and the anemia is by iron deficiency because the average values of red blood cells were less than normal. Myomectomy is the surgical option among young women who want to reproduce or maintain menstruation, while abdominal and vaginal hysterectomy are surgical options for older women or who have completed their reproductive life .
This study included 96 meningiomas treated between the years of 1999 and 2003 . The age of patients was between 18-80 years ,with a mean age of 49.16 years. Females constituted 65.6% of the patients ,while males constituted 34.4%. Large percent o f cases was between 4th to 6th decade of age, ( 56, 2% of all patients). Signs of raised intracranial pressure dominated the clinical picture presenting in 62% of patients, while epilepsy was the only symptom in 15% of the patients . MRI was performed in 81% of patients. The other patients were diagnosed by CT scan. Tumors were hemispheral in 74% of patients. The operating microscope and ultrasonic aspirator were used in 85% of cases.15% of tumors were removed using the classical methods, Total removal was achieved in 90% of cases. Clinical improvement was seen in 60.45 of cases while deterioration was seen in only 5.2% of cases. Complications included cerebral edema in five patients, and tumor recurrence in 5.2% of cases. Tumors were benign in 88%.Mortality was 2%.
We studied 67 cases of left ventricular aneurysm following a myocardial infarction through 1993 to 2002. 22 Patients had only aneurysmectomy 45 Patients had aneurysmectomy + CABG + Mitral surgery. Death percentage in the first year after surgery was 8.9 %. The good clinical and haemodynamical results are due to the clear indication of surgery on patients who had more than 25% of the LVDV involved by aneurysm.
