EuroVoc is a multilingual thesaurus that was built for organizing the legislative documentary of the European Union institutions. It contains thousands of categories at different levels of specificity and its descriptors are targeted by legal texts i
n almost thirty languages. In this work we propose a unified framework for EuroVoc classification on 22 languages by fine-tuning modern Transformer-based pretrained language models. We study extensively the performance of our trained models and show that they significantly improve the results obtained by a similar tool - JEX - on the same dataset. The code and the fine-tuned models were open sourced, together with a programmatic interface that eases the process of loading the weights of a trained model and of classifying a new document.
This paper presents tools and data sources collected and released by the EMBEDDIA project, supported by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program. The collected resources were offered to participants of a hackathon organized a
s part of the EACL Hackashop on News Media Content Analysis and Automated Report Generation in February 2021. The hackathon had six participating teams who addressed different challenges, either from the list of proposed challenges or their own news-industry-related tasks. This paper goes beyond the scope of the hackathon, as it brings together in a coherent and compact form most of the resources developed, collected and released by the EMBEDDIA project. Moreover, it constitutes a handy source for news media industry and researchers in the fields of Natural Language Processing and Social Science.

horizontally and vertically, and help them in facing the current challenges and strengthen
the EU's position in the international arena.
The Thesis focuses on the EU’s security strategy towards the Central Asian states –
as part of the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy towards the post-soviet realm.
The thesis analyses, assesses and scrutinises one of the topical issues of the
contemporary
international relations - cooperation between the European Union and Central Asian states
before and after adoption in June 2007 of the ‘European Union and Central Asia: Strategy
for a New Partnership’, an important political document in the history of relations between
the two parties.
The new stage of cooperation is analysed more comprehensively accentuating
priorities set in the Strategy. Analysis of the regional cooperation between the European
Union and Central Asian, issues of diversification of hydrocarbons supply routes from the
region to Europe and provision of energy security.
على الرغم من تحسن العلاقات الأوروبية -الأمريكية و ذلك من خلال التصويت الأوروبي على قرار مجلس الأمن الدولي رقم/ 1929 / في حزيران 2010 الذي أقر عقوبات ضد إيران بسبب ملفها في كوسوفو (ESDP) النووي، و المشاركة الأمريكية في عمليات السياسة الأمنية و الدفاعي
ة الأوروبية في التسعينيات من القرن العشرين، إلاَّ أن هذه العلاقات مازالت تعاني العديد من المشكلات، و جاء رفض الرئيس الأمريكي باراك أوباما حضور قمة الاتحاد الأوروبي و الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية في
أيار 2010، و قبلها عدم المشاركة في احتفالات الذكرى العشرين لسقوط جدار برلين، ليثبت ذلك. فما أهم العوامل التي تؤثر في تطور العلاقات الأمريكية- الأوروبية؟ و ما أهم السيناريوهات المطروحة للتعاون بين الجانبين؟
بعد أربعة عقود في غرفة انتظار الاتحاد الأوروبي، افتتحت مفاوضات انضمام تركيا إلى الاتحاد في الثالث من تشرين الأول 2005 ، وفقاً لإطار العمل التفاوضي المشترك الذي ينص على أن هذه المفاوضات "مفتوحة النهاية "ما يجعل نتيجتها غير مضمونة .
و تواجه تركيا العد
يد من المحددات في مفاوضات انضمامها إلى الاتحاد الأوروبي، منها على سبيل المثال:المشكلة القبرصية، و المشكلة الأرمينية، كونها دولة ذات غالبية مسلمة فضلاً عن مشاكل لها علاقة بالديمقراطية. و قد تبنت تركيا العديد من الإصلاحات و غيرت نظامها السياسي و العلماني بما يتناسب و قيم الاتحاد الأوروبي.
من جهة أخرى هناك العديد من الإيجابيات لانضمام تركيا إلى الاتحاد التي يمكن للاتحاد الاستفادة منها في حال حصولها على العضوية في الاتحاد. و سنحاول في هذه الورقة تسليط الضوء على كل ما يتعلق بهذا الشأن.
أصبحت السياسة الخارجية ذات أهمية كبرى بالنسبة للاتحاد الأوروبي، فأكثر من 70 % من المواطنين الأوروبيين يريدون أن يؤدي الاتحاد الأوروبي دورا أكبر في الشؤون الدولية، و توجد اليوم رغبة جامحة و مطالبة قوية بسياسة خارجية أوروبية مشتركة، و يعترف الجميع داخل
و خارج الاتحاد و بين كلا السياسيين و الشعوب بحتمية مفادها بأّنه: إذا ما أرادت أوروبا أن تكون مؤثرة في العالم، فعليها أن تحشد مواردها لبناء سياسة خارجية مشتركة .
