The window is an important part of the atmosphere that contains
and organizes the group of humanitarian activities, this is because
the window affects the quality of the environment that is intended to be created within the architectural spaces by
embodying the idea of the connection between the inside and outside .
Windows design is associated significantly with the manner of
facing the climatic problem of many factors such as lighting,
ventilation, etc., as well as with how to solve this problem and find
determinants that should be available to perform the functional role for the building and raise the efficiency of the internal space.
The research focuses on general concepts of lighting and related problems, and its significance in
the life of humans taking into consideration that light :
- Contributes in achieving psychological well-being.
- Maintains visual health.
- Reduces
work- related injuries and achieve public safety.
This study has focuses on the visual considerations and principles of lighting, in order to project it
on the case of Yemen and to add more principles to the construction rules and regulations. So the visual
study would be integrated within the architecture study at the time of designing future residential
buildings. This research concludes with a set of recommendations and suggestions .
