We study the $kappa$-color cyclic particle system on the one-dimensional integer lattice $mathbb{Z}$, first introduced by Bramson and Griffeath in cite{bramson1989flux}. In that paper they show that almost surely, every site changes its color infinitely often if $kappain {3,4}$ and only finitely many times if $kappage 5$. In addition, they conjecture that for $kappain {3,4}$ the system clusters, that is, for any pair of sites $x,y$, with probability tending to 1 as $ttoinfty$, $x$ and $y$ have the same color at time $t$. Here we prove that conjecture.

Families of three-body Hamiltonian systems in one dimension have been recently proved to be maximally superintegrable by interpreting them as one-body systems in the three-dimensional Euclidean space, examples are the Calogero, Wolfes and Tramblay Tu rbiner Winternitz systems. For some of these systems, we show in a new way how the superintegrability is associated with their dihedral symmetry in the three-dimensional space, the order of the dihedral symmetries being associated with the degree of the polynomial in the momenta first integrals. As a generalization, we introduce the analysis of integrability and superintegrability of four-body systems in one dimension by interpreting them as one-body systems with the symmetries of the Platonic polyhedra in the four-dimensional Euclidean space. The paper is intended as a short review of recent results in the sector, emphasizing the relevance of discrete symmetries for the superintegrability of the systems considered.
We investigate the mean first passage time of an active Brownian particle in one dimension using numerical simulations. The activity in one dimension is modeled as a two state model; the particle moves with a constant propulsion strength but its orie ntation switches from one state to other as in a random telegraphic process. We study the influence of a finite resetting rate $r$ on the mean first passage time to a fixed target of a single free Active Brownian Particle and map this result using an effective diffusion process. As in the case of a passive Brownian particle, we can find an optimal resetting rate $r^*$ for an active Brownian particle for which the target is found with the minimum average time. In the case of the presence of an external potential, we find good agreement between the theory and numerical simulations using an effective potential approach.

Let v, w be infinite 0-1 sequences, and m a positive integer. We say that w is m-embeddable in v, if there exists an increasing sequence n_{i} of integers with n_{0}=0, such that 0< n_{i} - n_{i-1} < m, w(i) = v(n_i) for all i > 0. Let X and Y be ind ependent coin-tossing sequences. We will show that there is an m with the property that Y is m-embeddable into X with positive probability. This answers a question that was open for a while. The proof generalizes somewhat the hierarchical method of an earlier paper of the author on dependent percolation.
We prove distributional convergence for a family of random processes on $mathbb{Z}$, which we call cooperative motions. The model generalizes the totally asymmetric hipster random walk introduced in [Addario-Berry, Cairns, Devroye, Kerriou and Mitche ll, 2020]. We present a novel approach based on connecting a temporal recurrence relation satisfied by the cumulative distribution functions of the process to the theory of finite difference schemes for Hamilton-Jacobi equations [Crandall and Lyons, 1984]. We also point out some surprising lattice effects that can persist in the distributional limit, and propose several generalizations and directions for future research.
We study the scaling limit of a large class of voter model perturbations in one dimension, including stochastic Potts models, to a universal limiting object, the continuum voter model perturbation. The perturbations can be described in terms of bulk and boundary nucleations of new colors (opinions). The discrete and continuum (space) models are obtained from their respective duals, the discrete net with killing and Brownian net with killing. These determine the color genealogy by means of reduced graphs. We focus our attention on models where the voter and boundary nucleation dynamics depend only on the colors of nearest neighbor sites, for which convergence of the discrete net with killing to its continuum analog was proved in an earlier paper by the authors. We use some detailed properties of the Brownian net with killing to prove voter model perturbations convergence to its continuum counterpart. A crucial property of reduced graphs is that even in the continuum, they are finite almost surely. An important issue is how vertices of the continuum reduced graphs are strongly approximated by their discrete analogues.
