Several solar analogs have been identified in the library of high resolution stellar spectra taken with the echelle spectrograph ELODIE. A purely differential method has been used, based on the chi2 comparison of a large number of G dwarf spectra to 8 spectra of the Sun, taken on the Moon and Ceres. HD 146233 keeps its status of closest ever solar twin (Porto de Mello & da Silva 1997). Some other spectroscopic analogs have never been studied before, while the two planet-host stars HD095128 and HD186427 are also part of the selection. The fundamental parameters found in the literature for these stars show a surprising dispersion, partly due to the uncertainties which affect them. We discuss the advantages and drawbacks of photometric and spectroscopic methods to search for solar analogs and conclude that they have to be used jointly to find real solar twins.

We present ELODIE.3, an updated release of the ELODIE library originally published in Prugniel & Soubiran (2001). It is part of the spectrophotometric resources available in the HyperLeda database where the spectra can be visualized or downloaded in FITS format. The ELODIE library includes 1962 spectra of 1388 stars obtained with the ELODIE spectrograph at the Observatoire de Haute-Provence 193cm telescope in the wavelength range 400 to 680 nm. It provides a large coverage of atmospheric parameters : Teff from 3000 K to 60000 K, log g from -0.3 to 5.9 and [Fe/H] from -3.2 to +1.4. The library is given at two resolutions: R=42000, with the flux normalized to the pseudo-continuum, R=10000 calibrated in physical flux (reduced above earth atmosphere) with a broad-band photometric precision of 2.5% and narrow-band precision of 0.5%. A grid of interpolated spectra is also given, which has been used for synthesis of stellar population with PEGASE-HR (Le Borgne et al. 2004). Compared to the previous version we have doubled the size of the library, corrected some identification errors, improved the external stellar parameters and the reduction procedure. A detailed description is available at the ELODIE.3 website : http://www.obs.u-bordeaux1.fr/m2a/soubiran/elodie_library.html
A large dataset of ~2800 spectra extracted from the ELODIE archive was analysed in order to find solar twins. A list of stellar spectra closely resembling the spectrum of the Sun was selected by applying a purely differential method, directly on the fluxes. As solar reference, 18 spectra of asteroids, Moon and blue sky were used. Atmospheric parameters and differential abundances of 8 chemical elements were determined for the solar twin candidates, after a careful selection of appropriate lines. The Li feature of the targets was investigated and additional information on absolute magnitude and age was gathered from the literature. HIP076114 (HD138573) is our best twin candidate, looking exactly like the Sun in all these properties.

We present ELODIE.3.1, an updated release of the library published in Prugniel & Soubiran (2001, 2004). The library includes 1962 spectra of 1388 stars obtained with the ELODIE spectrograph at the Observatoire de Haute-Provence 193cm telescope in the wavelength range 390 to 680 nm. It provides a wide coverage of atmospheric parameters : T_eff from 3100 K to 50000 K, log g from -0.25 to 4.9 and [Fe/H] from -3 to +1. The library is given at two resolutions: R~42000, with the flux normalized to the pseudo-continuum, FWHM=0.55AA (R~10000) calibrated in physical flux (reduced above earth atmosphere) with a broad-band photometric precision of 2.5% and narrow-band precision of 0.5%. In this new release the data-reduction (flux calibration, reconnection of the echelle orders) has been improved, and in particular the blue region, between 390 and 400 nm has been added. The FITS files for each spectra, and the measured atmospheric parameters are publicly available. See the ELODIE.3.1 page for more details: http://www.obs.u-bordeaux1.fr/m2a/soubiran/elodie_library.html

The most luminous Spitzer point sources in the 30 Doradus triggered second generation are investigated coherently in the 3-8 micron region. Remarkable diversity and complexity in their natures are revealed. Some are also among the brightest JHK sourc es, while others are not. Several of them are multiple when examined at higher angular resolutions with HST NICMOS and WFPC2/WFC3 as available, or with VISTA/VMC otherwise. One is a dusty compact H II region near the far northwestern edge of the complex, containing a half dozen bright I-band sources. Three others appear closely associated with luminous WN stars and causal connections are suggested. Some are in the heads of dust pillars oriented toward R136, as previously discussed from the NICMOS data. One resides in a compact cluster of much fainter sources, while another appears monolithic at the highest resolutions. Surprisingly, one is the brighter of the two extended mystery spots associated with Knot 2 of Walborn et al. Masses are derived from YSO models for unresolved sources and lie in the 10-30 M_{sun} range. Further analysis of the IR sources in this unique region will advance understanding of triggered massive star formation, perhaps in some unexpected and unprecedented ways.

We present our ELODIE radial-velocity measurements of HD 74156 and 14 Her (HD 145675). These stars exhibit low-amplitude radial-velocity variations induced by the presence of low-mass companions. The radial-velocity data of HD 74156 reveal the presen ce of two planetary companions: a 1.86 M_Jup planet on a 51.64--d orbit and a 6.2 M_Jup planet on a long-period (5.5 yr) orbit. Both orbits are fairly eccentric (e=0.64 and 0.58). The 4.7M_Jup companion to HD 145675 has a long period (4.9 yr) and a moderately eccentric orbit (e=0.34). We detect an additional linear radial-velocity trend superimposed to the periodic signal for this star. We also compute updated orbital solutions for HD 209458 and 51 Peg (HD 217014). Finally, we present our ELODIE radial-velocity data and orbital solutions for 5 stars known to host planetary companions: Ups And (HD 9826), 55 Cnc (HD 75732), 47 UMa (HD 95128), 70Vir (HD 117176) and HD 187123. We confirm the previously published orbital solutions for Ups And, 70 Vir and HD 187123. Our data are not sufficient for fully confirming the orbital solutions for 55 Cnc and 47UMa.
