We perform a detailed study of dark matter production via freeze-in under the assumption that some fluid dominates the early Universe before depositing its energy to the plasma causing entropy injection. As a dark matter candidate we consider a fermionic singlet that is produced through its interactions with a scalar particle in the thermal plasma. The fluid alters the expansion rate of the Universe, as well as the scaling of the temperature, which significantly affects the evolution of both the number density and the mean momentum of the dark matter particle. We identify and discuss in detail the effects of the evolution of these quantities by considering several examples representing dark matter production at different stages of expansion and entropy injection. We find that, since the dark matter density is reduced when the entropy injection to the plasma continues after freeze-in, in order to reproduce its observational value an enhanced rate of dark matter production is required relative to standard cosmology. Furthermore, the impact of the assumed non-standard cosmological history on the dark matter mean momentum can result in either a relaxed or a tightened bound on the dark matter mass from large structure formation data.

It is well known that for the pure standard model triplet fermionic WIMP-type dark matter (DM), the relic density is satisfied around 2 TeV. For such a heavy mass particle, the production cross-section at 13 TeV run of LHC will be very small. Extendi ng the model further with a singlet fermion and a triplet scalar, DM relic density can be satisfied for even much lower masses. The lower mass DM can be copiously produced at LHC and hence the model can be tested at collider. For the present model we have studied the multi jet ($geq 2,j$) + missing energy ($cancel{E}_{T}$) signal and show that this can be detected in the near future of the LHC 13 TeV run. We also predict that the present model is testable by the earth based DM direct detection experiments like Xenon-1T and in future by Darwin.
The ISS-based CALET (CALorimetric Electron Telescope) detector can play an important role in indirect search for Dark Matter (DM), measuring the electron+positron flux in the TeV region for the first time directly. With its fine energy resolution of approximately $2%$ and good proton rejection ratio ($1:10^5$) it has the potential to search for fine structures in the Cosmic Ray (CR) electron spectrum. In this context we discuss the ability of CALET to discern between signals originating from astrophysical sources and DM decay or annihilation. We fit a parametrization of the local interstellar electron and positron spectra to current measurements, with either a pulsar or 3-body decay of fermionic DM as the extra source causing the positron excess. The expected CALET data for scenarios in which DM decay explains the excess are calculated and analyzed. The signal from this particular 3-body DM decay which can explain the recent measurements of from the AMS$-02$ experiment is shown to be distinguishable from a single pulsar source causing the positron excess by 5 years of observation with CALET, based on the shape of the spectrum. We also study the constraints from extra-galactic diffuse $gamma$-ray data on this DM-only explanation of the positron excess and show that especially for the possibly remaining parameter space a clearly identifiable signature in the CR electron spectrum exists.
We present a study of singlet-doublet vector-like leptonic dark matter (DM) in the framework of two Higgs doublet model (2HDM), where the dark sector is comprised of one doublet and one singlet vectorlike fermions (VLFs). The DM, that arises as an ad mixture of the neutral components of the VLFs, is stabilized by an imposed discrete symmetry $mathcal{Z}_2^{}$ . We test the viability of the model in the light of observations from PLANCK and recent limits on spin-independent direct detection experiments, and search for its possible collider signals. In addition, we also look for the stochastic gravitational wave (GW) signatures resulting from strong first order phase transition due to the presence of the second Higgs doublet. The model thus offers a viable parameter space for a stable DM candidate that can be probed from direct search, collider and GW experiments.
We consider an extension of the standard model in which a singlet fermionic particle, to serve as cold dark matter, and a singlet Higgs are added. We perform a reanalysis on the free parameters. In particular, demanding a correct relic abundance of d ark matter, we derive and plot the coupling of the singlet fermion with the singlet Higgs, $g_s$, versus the dark matter mass. We analytically compute the pair annihilation cross section of singlet fermionic dark matter into two photons. The thermally averaged of this cross section is calculated for wide range of energies and plotted versus dark matter mass using $g_s$ consistent with the relic abundance condition. We also compare our results with the Fermi-Lat observations.
Once dark matter has been discovered and its particle physics properties have been determined, a crucial question rises concerning how it was produced in the early Universe. If its thermally averaged annihilation cross section is in the ballpark of f ew$times 10^{-26}$ cm$^3$/s, the WIMP mechanism in the standard cosmological scenario (i.e. radiation dominated Universe) will be highly favored. If this is not the case one can either consider an alternative production mechanism, or a non-standard cosmology. Here we study the dark matter production in scenarios with a non-standard expansion history. Additionally, we reconstruct the possible non-standard cosmologies that could make the WIMP mechanism viable.
