We develop a simple numerical method that allows us to calculate the Bardeen-Cooper-Schriefer (BCS) superfluid transition temperature (Tc) precisely for any interaction potential. We apply it to a polarised, ultracold Fermi gas with long-range, anisotropic, dipolar interactions and include the effects of anisotropic exchange interactions. We pay particular attention to the short-range behaviour of dipolar gasses and re-examine current renormalisation methods. In particular, we find that dimerisation of both atoms and molecules significantly hampers the formation of a superfluid. The end result is that at high density/interaction strengths, we find Tc is orders of magnitude lower than previous calculations.

Weyl superconductivity or superfluidity, a fascinating topological state of matter, features novel phenomena such as emergent Weyl fermionic excitations and anomalies. Here we report that an anisotropic Weyl superfluid state can arise as a low temper ature stable phase in a 3D dipolar Fermi gas. A crucial ingredient of our model is a rotating external field that generates a direction-dependent two-body effective attraction. Experimental signatures are predicted for cold gases in radio-frequency spectroscopy. The finite temperature phase diagram of this system is studied and the transition temperature of the Weyl superfluidity is found to be within the experimental scope for atomic dipolar Fermi gases.
We propose a model for addressing the superfluidity of two different Fermi species confined in a bilayer geometry of square optical lattices. The fermions are assumed to be molecules with interlayer s-wave interactions, whose dipole moments are orien ted perpendicularly to the layers. Using functional integral techniques we investigate the BCS-like state induced in the bilayer at finite temperatures. In particular, we determine the critical temperature as a function of the coupling strength between molecules in different layers and of the interlayer spacing. By means of Ginzburg-Landau theory we calculate the superfluid density. We also study the dimerized BEC phase through the Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless transition, where the effective mass leads to identify the crossover from BCS to BEC regimes. The possibility of tuning the effective mass as a direct consequence of the lattice confinement, allows us to suggest a range of values of the interlayer spacing, which would enable observing this superfluidity within current experimental conditions.

We report on the observation of a large anisotropy in the rethermalization dynamics of an ultracold dipolar Fermi gas driven out of equilibrium. Our system consists of an ultracold sample of strongly magnetic $^{167}$Er fermions, spin-polarized in th e lowest Zeeman sublevel. In this system, elastic collisions arise purely from universal dipolar scattering. Based on cross-dimensional rethermalization experiments, we observe a strong anisotropy of the scattering, which manifests itself in a large angular dependence of the thermal relaxation dynamics. Our result is in very good agreement with recent theoretical predictions. Furthermore, we measure the rethermalization rate as a function of temperature for different angles and find that the suppression of collisions by Pauli blocking is not influenced by the dipole orientation.
We perform a theoretical study into how dipole-dipole interactions modify the properties of superfluid vortices within the context of a two-dimensional atomic Bose gas of co-oriented dipoles. The reduced density at a vortex acts like a giant anti-dip ole, changing the density profile and generating an effective dipolar potential centred at the vortex core whose most slowly decaying terms go as $1/rho^2$ and $ln(rho)/rho^3$. These effects modify the vortex-vortex interaction which, in particular, becomes anisotropic for dipoles polarized in the plane. Striking modifications to vortex-vortex dynamics are demonstrated, i.e. anisotropic co-rotation dynamics and the suppression of vortex annihilation.

In this paper, we study an extended bosonic t-J model in an optical lattice, which describes two-component hard-core bosons with a nearest-neighbor (NN) pseudo-spin interaction, and also inter- and intra-species dipole-dipole interactions (DDI). In p articular, we focus on the case in which two component hard-core bosons have anti-parallel polarized dipoles with each other. The global phase diagram is studied by means of the Gutzwiller variational method and also the quantum Monte-Carlo simulations (QMC). The both calculations show that a stripe solid order, besides a checkerboard one, appears as a result of the DDI. By the QMC, we find that two kinds of supersolid (SS) form, checkerboard SS and stripe SS, and we also verify the existence of some exotic phase between the stripe solid and checkerboard SS. Finally by the QMC, we study the t-J-like model, which was experimentally realized recently by A. de Paz et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. {bf 111}, 185305 (2013)].
