We compute the interference between the resonant process $ppto H(rightarrow gammagamma)+2 text{ jets}$ and the corresponding continuum background at leading order in QCD. For the Higgs signal, we include gluon fusion (GF) and vector boson fusion (VBF) production channels, while for the background we consider all tree-level contributions, including pure EW effects (${cal O}(alpha_{QED}^4)$) and QCD contributions (${cal O}(alpha_{QED}^2 alpha_{s}^2)$), plus the loop-induced gluon-initiated process. After convolution with the experimental mass resolution, the main effect of the interference is to shift the position of the mass peak, as in the inclusive GF case studied previously. The apparent mass shift is small in magnitude but strongly dependent on the Higgs width, potentially allowing for a measurement of, or bound on, the width itself. In the $H(rightarrow gammagamma)+2 text{ jets}$ channel, the VBF and GF contributions generate shifts of opposite signs which largely cancel, depending on the sets of cuts used, to as little as 5 MeV (toward a lower Higgs mass). The small magnitude of the shift makes this channel a good reference mass for measuring the inclusive mass shift of around 60 MeV in the Standard Model.

Signal-background interference effects are studied for H --> WW and H --> ZZ searches in gluon fusion at the LHC. More specifically, the interference in the channels with semileptonic weak boson pair decay is analysed for light and heavy Higgs masses with minimal and realistic experimental selection cuts. In the semileptonic decay modes, the interference is affected by tree-level background contributions enhanced by 1/e^2 relative to the gluon-fusion continuum background in the fully leptonic decay modes. We find that for both light and heavy Higgs masses the interference with the loop-induced weak-boson pair background dominates over the interference with the tree-level weak-boson plus jets background for a range of selection cuts. We therefore conclude that higher-order background contributions can induce leading interference effects. With appropriate background suppression cuts the interference can be reduced to the 10% level for heavy Higgs masses, and to the per mille level for the light SM Higgs.

WW/ZZ interference for Higgs signal and continuum background as well as signal-background interference is studied for same-flavour l anti-nu_l anti-l nu_l final states produced in gluon-gluon scattering at the LHC for light and heavy Higgs masses wit h minimal and realistic experimental selection cuts. For the signal cross section, we find WW/ZZ interference effects of O(5%) at M_H = 126 GeV. For M_H >= 200 GeV, we find that WW/ZZ interference is negligible. For the gg continuum background, we also find that WW/ZZ interference is negligible. As general rule, we conclude that non-negligible WW/ZZ interference effects occur only if at least one weak boson of the pair is dominantly off-shell due to kinematic constraints. The subdominant weak boson pair contribution induces a correction to the signal-background interference, which is at the few percentage point level before search selection cuts. Optimised selection cuts for M_H >~ 600 GeV are suggested.
The significance of new physics appearing in the loop-induced decays of neutral Higgs bosons into pairs of dibosons $gammagamma$ and $Zgamma$ will be discussed in the framework of the 3-3-1 models based on a recent work~cite{Okada:2016whh}, where the Higgs sector becomes effectively the same as that in the two Higgs doublet models (2HDM) after the first symmetry breaking from $SU(3)_L$ scale into the electroweak scale. For large $SU(3)_L$ scale $v_3simeq10$ TeV, dominant one-loop contributions to the two decay amplitudes arise from only the single charged Higgs boson predicted by the 2HDM, leading to that experimental constraint on the signal strength $mu^{331}_{gammagamma}$ of the Standard Model-like Higgs boson decay $hrightarrow gammagamma$ will result in a strict upper bound on the signal strength $mu^{331}_{Zgamma}$ of the decay $hrightarrow, Zgamma$. For a particular model with lower $v_3$ around 3 TeV, contributions from heavy charged gauge and Higgs bosons may have the same order, therefore may give strong destructive or constructive correlations. As a by-product, a deviation from the SM prediction $|mu^{331}_{gammagamma}-1| le 0.04$ still allows $|mu^{331}_{Zgamma}-1|$ to reach values near 0.1. We also show that there exists an $CP$-even neutral Higgs boson $h^0_3$ predicted by the 3-3-1 models, but beyond the 2HDM, has an interesting property that the branching ratio Br$(h^0_3rightarrow gammagamma)$ is very sensitive to the parameter $beta$ used to distinguish different 3-3-1 models.
We study Kaluza-Klein (KK) graviton production in the large extra dimensions model via 2 jets plus missing transverse momentum signatures at the LHC. We make predictions for both the signal and the dominant Zjj and Wjj backgrounds, where we introduce missing P_T-dependent jet selection cuts that ensure the smallness of the 2-jet rate over the 1-jet rate. With the same jet selection cuts, the distributions of the two jets and their correlation with the missing transverse momentum provide additional evidence for the production of an invisible massive object.
We calculate the spinor helicity amplitudes of anomalous $Hto ZZ to 4ell$ decay. After embedding these analytic formulas into the $texttt{MCFM}$ package, we study the interference effects between the anomalous $ggto Hto ZZ to 4ell$ process and the SM processes, which are indispensable in the Higgs off-shell region. Subsequently, the constraints on the anomalous couplings are estimated using LHC experimental data.
